"You better put these on." Shamrock tells Yun, handing her a big pair of gun glasses and a baseball cap. The two are sitting in an airport, waiting to jump a flight out of Korea.
"Why?" she asks him in return, but putting the items on none the less.
Shamrock gestures to a TV at a bar a few feet away, she looks at it for a second then gets up and walks a little closer so she can hear the broadcast. The channel is set to the news, and there is a picture of her on the screen.
"...she was taken shortly after their concert last night, police estimate around 11pm. The assailant is thought to be this man, Joe Shamrock, a foreign citizen living in Korea as her bodyguard. We reached out to her parents for an interview but they declined, her father Yun Hyun-Sook did give us a statement he asked us to read on the air. "Please return my daughter, no questions asked. We will pay you anything you want." - On top of this YG Entertainment is also offering a reward for any information on the whereabouts of Yun Go-eun. Please stay with us as we follow this story as it develops."
Yun sits down at the bar and orders a water, Shamrock puts on a pair of sunglasses him self takes a seat next to her.
"Can you change that please?" Yun asks to the bartender. He nods and changes the channel with out even looking. She could tell he had not been watching the news, which was good for her right now. These disguises were not exactly the best things going for them. Yun looks up to the TV to see a cartoon playing, there are six girls and are fighting a giant monster. Yun sighs as the blond girl in the group flies by the TV.
This was her cartoon character, as this was her groups cartoon. She watched it for a second, she never actually saw an episode of it. She had tried to avoid seeing them, she figured she recorded the lines for the role that was enough for her. She was kind of ashamed at the fact she had her own cartoon. It was stupid too, the group was cast as some sort of bounty hunters and made little sense to her.
"Could you change this too?" she asks once more, the Bartender turns this time to look at the TV, seeing a cartoon he apologizes and changes the channel again.
"You know, we are going to have to dye your hair when we get to Tokyo." Shamrock tells her, she turns to look at him, taking a handful of hair in her hands looking at it. Her dyed blonde hair was a bit of a trademark for her, another decision made for her by the label president. She didn't necessary like being blonde, but nothing about her fashion was ever her own, it was already predetermined. The record label discovered with one of its past groups that giving the leader of a group blond hair tended to make them stand out more from the rest so it was a tactic they used in all of their groups now.
"Yeah, I had already figured that. I already bought the dye." she says, gesturing to the bag at her side. "When does the flight leave?" she asks him, she is getting a bit uncomfortable. She was nervous that someone would recognize her, but now she was frightened someone would after seeing the news report. Not for her anymore, she was frightened what would happen to Joe should she get caught.
"I do not mean to pry." the bartender suddenly speaks up. Yun looks up to him now, he is a young man in his early 20s, very handsome. She had not noticed it before now, but he was staring at her. She was so concerned with the News Report that she did not notice the bartender at all. - "Are you the girl from the news? Yun Go-Eun?" he finishes. Yun's heart sank in her chest. Joe sitting next to her went ridged for a moment.
"...uh... No." Yun says, her voice shaking from fear.
"No, you are. I saw you over in the concourse before you put the glasses on, and you stand out like a sore thumb with this guy next to you." the bartender motions to Joe, the guy had a point. They did stick out.
"... please do not call the police. I didn't run away, I left on my own accord." she says in a loud sigh.
"Trust me, I can see you are clearly not being kidnapped, I am not going to call anyone. I'm just a huge fan of the group, granted my favorite is SooYoung... I've just never really met a celebrity before." he says, getting a bit nervous.
"I am just a normal person, there is nothing special about meeting me. I've done nothing to help society, I've done nothing to warrant people following me everywhere I go, coming up to me and wanting photos or to shake my hand... that is why I am leaving. Stuff like this, if I was any other person you would have never paid a second glance at me." she says resting her face in her hands as she sighs again.
"You are wrong, I would have took a second glance anyway, you are a very attractive girl. Even if you were not famous, nothing would change that. I'd still have looked. I'm sorry then, for mentioning it. I never really thought about how you might feel, or hell any of them. Do they all think like you?" he says with a laugh.
"Thank you." she says looking up for a second. "No, some of them love it. A few maybe would rather live there own lives but they love being what they are. I do not, I've never gotten a chance to do anything for my self since I was a very young girl. It was always what my parents wanted, then it was always what the label wanted. It was never what Goeun wanted. But now, I am taking my life into my own hands." she seems to swell with emotion when she says this, her voice shaking a bit. Shamrock seeing that she is getting emotional over this pats her on the shoulder.
"Now boarding at Gate 21, Flight 277 - To Tokyo." comes a voice over the PA System.
"That's us." Shamrock tells her.
"I got to go," she says to the bartender, "Thank you for saying that to me. It means more to me then you can ever know. Thank you for also not calling the police." she shakes his hand then gets up. Shamrock pats her on the back again. The two of them give a parting wave to the bartender then head off towards their flight... Next stop is Tokyo...
