"And on the seventh day, God had ended his work which he had done. He rested and left what he created find its way."
When it comes to redemption, not a lot of people can say they've had it. More over those people have sinned so much that redemption just seems like a place too far from their grasp. The ones who have extended their reach, well, they are the ones who deserved it in the first place. Why would redemption be given to someone who does not believe they be able to receive it. Without trying there is only failure. So, here I am trying for the seventh time to grasp at redemption. Each time my hands got so close to holding it, but it slipped right through the fingers. Those times were different. Those times I was different.
The First.
Orpheus, the unknown angel. He was tall, strong and completely cleansed of sin. The other angels aspired to be him, even the creator saw him as something as a second son. Gabriel, Lucifer, Michael all followed his every word. Seemed as if he was the best angel their would ever be, but you've never heard of him. You've never heard the stories of how Orpheus cured the sickly or how Orpheus saved souls from demonic plagues. To the creator he never existed as this wise and powerful angel. At least, not anymore. He was warranted for a crime he did not commit, a crime that Lucifer had blamed on him. Even with respect there is jealousy. The deaths of thousands of people sparked the hand of an angry God, but for the all knowing to be tricked by a lowly angel still astounds me today.
The creator ordered for the demotion of Orpheus. He would lose some of his power, but all of his honor. Lucifer expected for a true death, but the creator had somewhat of a heart. To angel, though, demotion means death. You experience death as a human in the most violent of ways. A portion of strength is stripped from you and thus after the treachery we have...
The Second.
After the first had been slain, the creator reincarnated him as Orpheus the Second. A new angel with an old face. His personalty differed from the first, he was arrogant and full of hatred for what happened to the first. Most humans wouldn't blame him, I'd for one hate to die and be born again with the memories of death. Then again...I have. Seven times. Anyways, by this time Lucifer wanted to create a rebellion unto the heavens and he recruited The Second. He was angered by the way the creator treated him, but still wanted revenge on Lucifer. Kill two birds with one stone, right? Help end the reign of a God then turn around and kill the new one. Take over and then all will be alright once again. Of course if things worked out I wouldn't be here telling you this right now.
Lucifer's planned backfired and thus he was cast down into hell. Orpheus was able to escape hell after pleading his case that Lucifer tricked him. The almighty gave in and called for another demotion. Death brings new life.
The Third.
A more gentle man than the last two. The Third had lost enough power to gain more emotions towards life and all its belongings. That being said he only gained the emotion of sadness. Lucifer being cast into hell caused only more problems for the humans which saddened the third leading only to, you guessed it!
The Fourth.
This one was a very interesting case. After the third took his own life, the creator decided upon bringing him back in hopes to use him in the efforts to fight Lucifer. Of course once an angel dies, he loses a portion of power making the fourth quite useless to the creator as a warrior. With death a new human emotion came in the form of anger. It came as a much different form than what the Second had experienced. Angels are stripped of emotions, but synthetically feel them. It is quite complex and I do not believe I have the time. Explanations with come, no worries. The human emotion coursed through the fourth's body as if it were the blood coursing through veins. Sadness mixed with anger only created regret. Regret for what the past lives had done, regret for Lucifer's fall, regret for the humans.
The fourth only wanted to help and decided he must end what Lucifer had created. Anger mixed with sadness only created a short fuse that Lucifer would soon light. The Fourth traveled to hell only to be taunted and thus in a pit of rage attacked. With a lack of power he was killed in the battle.
The Fifth.
The creator believed in giving chances and thus we now have Orpheus The Fifth. I understand my story may be a little long winded now, so for the Fifth I will give you a brief history. He gained the problems of sins. The seven deadly sins corrupted his mind only with his new emotions. Orpheus The Fifth died at the hand of God. He was a very interesting, but evil man.
The Sixth.
I suppose you expected the Sixth to appear next, sadly I have no recollection of Orpheus The Sixth. It strikes me odd that I know of one through five, but no six. It makes me wonder, what did the sixth do to make me not remember someone so close to me. All I know are of the past misdeeds and what they have done to shape me, but the sixth...what makes him so different.
The Seventh.
And thus I stand before Orpheus The Seventh. The story must be told of the Seven Orpheus'. To warn those of the sins that even the holiest may face. To beware the snake in the grass. I do not preach his word for I am not longer any form of an angel. I am truly human now. Don't expect me to preach on the good word, I am only here to promote the good inside our own hearts. I feel the good in my own, but I also feel the bad. Humans preach of ridding the evil from our hearts, but sometimes I wonder...should we end it? Maybe the evil in our hearts are the reason the good exists. They say he works in mysterious ways, maybe the reason I stand before you is apart of a plan. Only time will really tell. Thanks for taking the time to hear the story of the Seven Orpheus'.
Maybe being human won't be so bad after all.
