Invitational Battle Royal: Blake Cabrera, Chris Platinum, Dai Pritchards, Fire, Halo, Hardy, Heat, Lazarus, New Smoke, Pat Williams, Shawn Ablaze, TY Streets
Time: 6:45 PM Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
Place: Backstage at The Scope
As the scene is fading in we hear a simple voice:
[glow=green,4,300]What the fuck is a Dai Pritchards?[/glow]
We see one of the new WGWF wrestlers, Hardy, backstage with a piece of paper in his hand. He's looking it over with a bit of a look of surprise on his face. He hands the paper back to the stagehand.
Hardy: Sounds good. Thanks.
As the stagehand leaves the room, Hardy turns and puts his right foot up on the chair. He pulls his pantleg up and the knee brace up onto his knee. He pulls his leg down and his pantleg falls back into place. He takes three steps over to his right and we see a mock set of stairs. Hardy starts going up and down them as fast as he can. The set of four steps goes fairly quickly as Hardy is in great physical condition. He goes up and comes back down about twenty times before stopping at the bottom. He leans down to the floor and picks up a bottle of water, taking a drink. He holds the water bottle in his hand and walks out of his room. He takes a right turn and we see WGWF Reporter Denise Essex run up behind him, microphone in hand.
Denise: Hardy, can I get a few words?
Hardy: Absolutely. What's on your mind?
Denise: Well, I was wondering how you feel about being put in the Invitational Battle Royal on WGWF's Brawl this Monday night.
Hardy: Well, a match is a match. That's the way I look at it. new Smoke is going to try to bring some kind of hardcore element into the match, I say bring it. Chris Platinum says that because Dean James brought him here, that means that he's going to win. Well, I hate to break it to you Chris, but because somebody in the place brought you here doesn't mean you'll win. It doesn't mean jack shit. As for the rest of the guys involved, we haven't heard from them yet...hopefully none of them will puss out and they'll all show up.
Denise: So, you're actually hoping everyone will show up?
Hardy: Absolutely. Whether I win or not, this is a chance for somebody in this match to propel themselves. This is a chance for one person in to prove that they're better than at least twelve people. This match should propel the winner damn near to the Main Event on a one match basis. Possibly the biggest match of some of our WGWF careers. This will make or break careers, and people.
Denise: Well, then what are your predictions for the match? Who is going to win?
Hardy: Well, I'm not going to be an ignorant, self-inflated asshole like everybody else seems to be around here, and I won't say that I'm going to win, because honestly, I don't know. I hope I can win...and even if I don't, I hope I can put in a good showing. First impressions mean everything. They're over in an instant, and after this match, we'll know where thirteen new men stand in the WGWF. I'm looking to be at the top of that list, but like I said, if I'm not, then so be it. I go back and I work hard so that I can beat whoever may get the best of me out there Monday night. Plain and simple.
Denise: Okay. Brawl comes and goes, Hardy wins the match. Where does Hardy go from there?
Hardy: Wherever management sees fit. I'm not going to come in here and claim that I'll win all the gold, that nobody can stop me, that I'm indestructable...but, I am going to come in here with an aura of confidence and try to build a legacy for myself here in the WGWF like I did with the two companies that I called home before this. On Monday night, thirteen men will enter the ring, one will leave it. That one man will be one of the top guns in WGWF, no matter who likes it. It doesn't matter if Chris Page likes it, it does matter if Jason Black likes it, hell...it doesn't even matter if THEY like it, they will be one of the big names in the WGWF, and I'm looking to take that top spot.
Denise: A few more questions. Number one...Brawl comes and goes, Hardy lost the match. Where does he go from there?
Hardy: Once again, wherever management seems to think they can fit me in.
Hardy stops walking and Denise and the cameraman stop as well.
Hardy: Look. I didn't come looking for this place, this place came looking for me. If I'm not up to par with their standards and what they want out of a wrestler, than all they've got to do is show me the door and I'll walk away. It's every persons goal in the sports entertainment business to become the World Champion, and Hardy is no different. I've held two of those titles already, and I'm looking to grab a third, but if that doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. All I can say is, come Monday night, we'll know which of the twelve men in that match other than me are made of, and we'll be able to tell their futures, and mine, by the way we perform in the match. That's all there is to it. I'll see you Monday night.
Hardy opens the door behind him and walks out into the parking lot as the scene simply fades away...
