The WGWF & TV Tokyo are happy to announce a five year partnership for the rights to broadcast WGWF “Monday night Brawl” which will air Tuesday nights here in Japan region.
The deal was reached late Saturday night after weeks of talks between the two groups over cost, broadcasting rights and clearance from the government’s media authority. While this deal ensures a strong post “Wrestle Wars” presence for the company which expects over 30,000 thousand fans live within a sold out Tokyo Dome this Monday night. The WGWF & TV Tokyo are also giving fans of the company who cannot attend or have never seen their product a chance to view a match from the “Wrestle Wars” card for FREE on TV Tokyo. Co-owner Matt Hopkins was quoted as saying.
Matt Hopkins “What we’re doing on Monday night along with TV Tokyo has never been done before in pro-wrestling for a very long time. Since the PPV revolution fans would have to pay to see our matches but since this is new territory for the company. We thought a free peak at what our company offers would most certainly swing public opinion our way. In fact this idea began even before I returned to the company with both Adam Barker & former co-owner Paul Frost who must take the credit for a geniuses marketing campaign.”
The match that TV Tokyo viewers will witness is the high athletically hyped contest of Double G vs. Paul Frost.
Matt Hopkins “To me and everyone involved this was a no brainer on our parts. We still need to make money our main event was too much to give away, heck even a title match would perhaps have turned heads. But when you have two great athletics like a Paul Frost a former Worlds Champion and Hall of Fame member going against a man with so many athletic gifts as Double G. Well it’s no surprise that a match with so much technical skill, so much respect between both men and without a doubt the “sleeper” of the night it was again the easiest decision to make to allow this match to be the ambassador of the WGWF to introduce a whole new audience to the best profession wrestling today.”
TV Tokyo will have a live special starting at 7pm with clips from various WGWF events before going live to the Tokyo Dome to broadcast the match between Paul Frost & Double G. For more information visit WGWF.com or TVTokyo.com/WGWF.
