A month and a half ago…
Cholo’s SUV arrives back at the hospital, parking by the valet, yes, hospitals have valets now, it’s wild. Cholo quickly gets out, gets his ticket from attendant then goes around to help Maggie out of the backseat where she had been sleeping. He picks her up and carries her inside, walking past the main information desk and towards the elevators where he takes one to the second floor where the children’s wing of the hospital is. Once there, the nurses were waiting for him, and point him to one of the nearby rooms. Cholo lays her gently into the room and they begin to work on her, getting her pressure checked, as well as her temperature etc., Cholo goes to leave but Maggie sits up and grabs his arm, stopping him.
Maggie: Cholo, wait! I thought you were taking me to see Marky!
Cholo: Soon pequeña, but we need to make sure you are okay too.
Maggie: I’m fine, I just want to see him! Something tells me he is not okay!
Cholo: He’s fine Maggie, Cholo promises. He’s going to go see him now and tell him the good news that Cholo found you and that you are okay. He’s going to be so happy! Soon you two will be reunited.
She sits back, but the nurses don’t start just yet.
Maggie: Promise?
He grabs her hand and gives her a kiss on the back of it.
Cholo: Si, te lo prometo… Cholo will be right back to get you.
Maggie nods and relaxes as the nurses look at Cholo who gives them the nod. Cholo then leaves the room as they begin the examination. He heads down a few hallways, going to where Marky’s room is, away from intensive care unit and into the area for kids who are on the road to recovery. As he is close to his room, he finds it surprising that the officer that was standing outside isn’t there. Cholo looks around and there is no activity in this hallway as most of the rooms are empty. He puts it out of his mind, and he goes inside with a huge smile on his face.
Cholo: Guess what amigos?! Cholo found Mag-
He stops dead on his tracks as he sees the bodies of Andy and Eric on the floor, laid out face down. Marky is nowhere to be seen but Cholo notices the broken windows. Before he goes to check on that, he quickly checks the foster parents and to his relief, they are breathing. Cholo notices the bathroom door slightly opened with the lights on and he goes there to see if Marky is there, but he only finds the officer, knocked out, handcuffed by his own set of cuffs. Cholo checks him as well and he too is breathing. Cholo then exits and heads for the window where he sees a some men running off, carrying Marky! He wonders just how in the hell they got him down, but even though they are on the second floor, it’s not that big of a jump… But did they throw him? Cholo shakes his head and shudders just thinking about it. He quickly goes back in, reaching for the nurse’s button and pushing it frantically before, without thinking twice about it, running towards the window and jumping out of it. He lands awkwardly but rolls forward thanks to his wrestling training and hops to his feet.
Cholo: Hey! PENDEJOS! LET HIM GO!
They turn to see Cholo hot on their trail and the two carrying Marky keep going towards a nearby SUV. The third, comes at Cholo with everything he has and swings with a right hand but Cholo ducks it, swings around and drops the guy with a sling blade! The guy tries to get up, but Cholo gets on top of him and hits him with a hard forearm shot that knocks him out. Cholo then gets up, chasing after the SUV and gets there just as the doors close, Cholo punches the back window with all his might, shattering it. But just then the SUV pulls off fast. Cholo tries to chase after it, but once it starts to get away from him, he quickly takes out his phone and tosses it at it, it going through the back window. Cholo stops chasing after it and just hopes Marky sees his phone and grabs it… He heads back to the hospital, kicking the goon with a penalty kick as he was starting to come around. He looks in the goon’s pockets and finds his phone. He holds his face up so the phone unlocks with face recognition and then Cholo heads towards the entrance where the valet attendant is and screams at him for his keys. The valet, scared for his life gives them to him, remember Cholo’s car and doesn’t even bother asking for the ticket as Cholo is already running off. He finds his car, gets in, starts it and peels out of the parking lot, heading towards the road where he last saw the SUV at. As he drives frantically with one hand, he looks through the goon’s phone with the other, trying to find any sort of clues that will tell him who they are, but more importantly, where they are taking Marky. He doesn’t find anything, but then looks at the Maps app, and under recent searches, it shows a nearby private airstrip.
Cholo: That must be it!
Cholo clicks go and follows the GPS as fast as he can. Hitting some small roads first then hoping on the highway then hoping back off, into a few backroads that lead to the airfield. As he drives like a mad man, he makes a phone call, and after several rings, someone picks up.
Cholo: Paula! Is me Cholo, never mind where I’m calling you from… Look, I don’t have time to explain, I need you to go to my house and log-in to my PC and track my phone. I can’t explain right now, just do it, please! You know my passwords! What do you mean you don’t? Well just look for a sticky note under my keyboard, you’ll find them there… Yes, I know that’s not safe, now it’s not the time! Please just hurry!
He hangs up and then continues driving down this one last road that leads to it, he can see the runway and a small jet plane ready to take off. He sees the SUV from earlier there, just pulling up and the doors opening with the two goons getting out first. They then go into the backseat and grab Markey, one by his legs and the other by shoulders as the kid is putting up quite a fight.
Cholo: Atta boy Marky, give them hell, almost there!
Cholo steps on the gas finally reaching the entrance which is guarded by two armed man but Cholo doesn’t bother stopping, even when they try to get in their way holding their hands up. Cholo speeds right through, making them go diving out of the way, and shatters the traffic arm of the gate. The two goons have managed to get Marky inside the small jet plane and the door has closed, and stand by, guns drawn aiming at Cholo as he comes right at them. The jet begins to take off, and as Cholo arrives, he's force to swerve as they begin to shoot at him, crashing right into their SUV. Cholo hops out, going around the back of his SUV, as the goons come around their SUV, hoping to catch him by surprise. The jet picks up speed on the runway and it’s not long before it takes off. Cholo can only watch in dismay from a crouching position as it goes up higher and higher in the air. He hears two shots, and he quickly looks, as the goons shot at the driver side thinking he might be hiding behind the air bag. Cholo jumps on the roof his car, and as one of the goons comes around the back, Cholo jumps and delivers a missile drop kick, knocking him down and follows it up with a hard elbow to the temple, knocking him out. He then grabs the gun as the other goon comes back around after hearing the noise, he is aiming right at Cholo who in turn doesn’t fire the gun, but throws it at him, hitting him right between the eyes. The goon shoots up in the air while he reaches for the bridge of his nose with his free hand. Cholo takes the opportunity to charge at him and take him down with a thundering spear. The goon’s head bounces hard off the concrete and is immediately unconscious.
Cholo: I’ve never fired a gun and today wasn’t going to be the first time… Guns don’t kill people, stupid pendejos like you do…
Cholo stands up and looks in the direction of the jet which is nothing but a small white dot in the sky now.
Cholo: I’m sorry Mikey…
Cholo doesn’t have much time to dwell on what just happens, as he remembers Maggie. Cholo again checks this goon for a cell phone, finds it and dials 911.
Cholo: Hello, operator? Yes, there has been a kidnapping, need you to come to Atlantic Aviation on 1771 Shuttle Columbia Drive… Yes, two of the kidnappers are here. Please send someone over, hurry!
Cholo doesn’t thang up, instead just drops the phone on top of the goon’s chest. He then gets inside his car and looks for the goon’s phone he was using, thankfully it has not locked on him. He calls Paola again.
Cholo: Hey Paola is me, any luck? YES! Okay keep tracking it and wherever it comes to a stop, get some cops there ASAP! I’m heading back to the hospital, I’ll call you from there and explain everything.
He hangs up again and then heads for their car since their airbag didn’t deploy. Cholo finds the keys inside and he quickly turns the SUV on and drives off, heading back to the hospital. Once he arrives at the parking lot, he doesn’t head for the entrance but to where he knocked out the third goon. When he arrives there though, he is surprised to see El Paso’s finest have already arrived at the scene and have it taped off. The goon is nowhere to be seen, and ask Cholo parks the car and gets out, instead of getting treated like the hero he is, the officers all draw their guns and point it at him.
Officer: Freeze! Put your hands in behind your head!
Cholo: Wait, what? Officer do you know who I am?
Officer: Yes, I know who you are… The prime suspect in the assault of Andre and Eric Cruise, assault on an officer of the law, destruction of public property plus the kidnapping of Mikey Cruiser.
Cholo: What?! I didn’t kidnap him! I was after the guys that took him!
Officer: Hands behind your head! I will not ask a third time! I don’t want to shoot you but I will sir, on your knees… NOW!
Cholo is shocked, but to avoid this becoming a bigger tragedy, he does as he is told, kneeling and putting his hands behind his beautiful afro. The officer with the gun drawn remains in that position but signal others to go and handcuff Cholo. They relectuntly do, one of them even apologizing to him.
2nd Officer: I’m sorry Cholo, I’m a big fan… But I’m just doing my job.
Cholo: It’s okay amigo, Cholo understands, but please try to go find Marky… There is an airfield, not too far from here, I called 911 and-
But Cholo is cut off as a 3rd officer begins to read hiim his rights.
3rd Officer: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to consult with a lawyer and to have an attorney present during any police questioning. You…
But his voice fades away, Cholo no longer hears him, he just focuses on his own voice as he whispers to himself…
Cholo: I’m sorry Maggie… I failed you…
To be continued…
El Closing Shoot – Present Time
Well it’s time for a rebound.
For the second time in a row, Cholo has fallen to Mac Bane, first to lose Cholo’s title to him, second to fail at regaining it. Why does Cholo mention what everyone already knows? Well, because here Cholo stands, in a rebound match against CJ Phoenix, a man he knows very little about.
But don’t get Cholo wrong, he doesn’t say this in a negative way or to put CJ in a bad light… After all, Cholo is also CJ’s rebound. He is coming off a huge loss, after failing to win MY PRECIOUS Intercontinental championship… You know, when Cholo handed that title off to Dubois, he thought he was leaving it in good hands… But clearly, he wasn’t good enough and now MY PRECIOUS, much like the TV championship, is becoming a hot potato… Devlin Knight holds it now and congratulations go out to him, may he have a prosperous reign… But CJ had a change to make it his, but alas, last Monday Night Brawl wasn’t his night just like night two of the Denzel Porter Invitational was not Cholo’s.
We all know how Cholo lost his title match, but while Cholo knew CJ had not won his, Cholo hadn’t had a chance to watch the match yet to see what went down. Until now, and despite what Cholo said above, you were very close to winning the title CJ… As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for a caca pants guy Cholo knows too damn well in the form of Tristan Slater, you would probably be standing right now across from Cholo as the Intercontinental champion… Then again, had you won your match you probably wouldn’t be facing me at all, you may be defending the title against someone from that division… But it wasn’t meant to me, Tristan Slater stole your moment and if there is something Cholo can relate with, is what happened to you. Cholo had Mac Bane beat, and Tristan Slater decided to stick his nose in Cholo’s business and cost him the championship… Granted, in your case, he was part of the match so he had every right to stop the pin as he was trying to win the title himself… Don’t get Cholo wrong, he is in no way shape or form taking Slater’s side, Cholo will never do that… But all Cholo is saying is, he is a known piece of perro crap, and so Cholo is not surprised he stole your moment. But if you can take solace in one thing, is that it was Slater himself who ended up eating the pin, and at least he didn’t win the championship… But if Cholo is right in trying to figure out the kind of man you are, then Cholo knows that didn’t make you happy… Nobody cheers for another competitor in the same match for them to win a championship you are going for… No true competitor will say, well, if I don’t win it, let him win it… No… If the Intercontinental championship meant anything to you, then Cholo knows you were very disappointment you didn’t win… and Cholo not only hopes that you not rest until you get your revenge on Slater, but that you do not quit until you get another crack at the Intercontinental championship, and win it.
But that is then, and this is now and the now has us standing across from each other CJ, both coming off losing title matches against opponents we know we can beat… and yet, fate has decided to play us dirty and keep the gold away from us… At least, for now. What could a win against Cholo do for you? Could that propel you back up the rankings of not only the Intercontinental championship but the World as well? Could you go on to face Mac Bane at Wrestle Wars instead of Cholo? Or could you at least make a case that you deserve to be in the match, making it a three-way-dance? Cholo is sure that beating him would do wonders for you, for your career… Cholo knows that beating him could be the turning point in your career where CJ Phoenix is skyrocketed to the top!
Well, as much as Cholo would love to do all of that for you, he won’t… Cholo is a charitable man and he is here to help as many children as he can around the world… But he is not here to be your make-a-wish… You see Cholo needs this win just as badly as you do, if not more… Before losing the World Title match Cholo had only lost one match in a whole year… The Television 4 way championship match…. When he lost the World Title, that was the first time Cholo had been pinned ever, and he is not looking to do another first in this match against you: losing back to back matches… Whether in WGWF or any where else he has wrestled in his young career, he has never lost back to back matches and he is not about to start now.
Cholo is sorry CJ, he is sure you are a good man and a great wrestler and on Monday, we are going to give the fans a helluva match… But when you stand across from Cholo and that bell rings, with Mac Bane watching, he is going to put on a wrestling clinic that will remind the whole world, but specially Mac Bane, why he is the Cannabis Cup winner… and why he will once again be, The World Heavyweight Champion.
