CAEDUS REWIND: In the last installment of "Dead...Again" unveiling Jim's journey through Purgatory, we witnessed him and his traveling companion Joseph ambushed by a quartet of Archangels intent on casting them both to Hell. Jim was able to overcome "The Four" by tapping into his love for his daughter Elora back on Earth. It was then that a Seraphim, "The Exile", arrived...but Jim, still enraged, countered and sent The Exile rocketing off into The Nothing surrounding Purgatory...
"Nothin' will stop me from returnin' to Elora."
"I can see that...... Anyway, we'd better get a move on. There's uh...there's something I need to show you. It's not far from here."
"Lead the way."
The companions travel onward, heading for the border of the Ring of Mists.

It'd taken them what felt to Jim like hours to reach this point but finally he and Joe step through the border wall of the Ring of Mists and into the bright daylight beyond.
Jim looks skyward to discover no sun providing the illumination. His eyes drop back down to what lies before him and Joe: a short span of verdant grasses and weeds swaying in the soft breeze, ending at the outer rim of a dense forest into which very little light penetrates. The several meters tall giant Jim peers down at a meter tall Joseph...
"Where to now?"
"In there," Joe replies, gesturing dead-ahead.
Jim gazes into the forest, the mass of conifer trees stretching northward only a couple meters taller than him. He walks forward with Joe in tow, crossing the grassland and entering...
...Sometime later as they've delved much further in, the woodland thickens. Despite his sidling between them to avoid toppling trees altogether, Jim's massive frame ends up snapping the numerous boughs and branches in his way as if they were twigs.
"Jesus," Joe spits out while dodging falling limbs! "Watch it!"
"Well stop waddlin' beside me an' lead the way; I've no idea where the hell we're goin'."
"I can't keep up with your giant strides AND dodge tree trunks on the run you big bastard 🙂"
Jim stops, plucks Joe up to place him on his shoulder then continues forward.
"Better?"
"Y-"
Joe is knocked off by a branch and drops like a rock to the forest floor in a heap.
"You- you...you ASSHOLE!!"
"Well whaddya want I should do; put'cha in my pocket?"
"You could slow down maybe."
"Not makin' my daughter wait any longer than necessary fer me. Shouldn't even have entertained this-"
"Wait. We're here.."

"The location of the Galaxy's Eye."
"Fuck's that?"
"A jewel that allows anyone to see anywhere in all of creation."
"Anywhere? Y'mean I can use it t'see my--"
"Daughter? Yes... Whoa whoa, hold on a second!"
Jim continues trudging forward, uprooting a grouping of trees to enter the small clearing surrounding the cabin. Joe dashes up and kicks him in the boot.
"WAIT damn you! The keeper of the 'Eye is hiding here for a reason! If he hears us coming he'll disap-"
"I heard you coming a mile away, Joseph."
A man stands glaring at the duo from just outside the now open cabin doorway.
"I've been watching you both approach. Who is this," the keeper asks, craning his neck upward to meet Jim's lofty gaze?
"Never mind who I am. I hear y'have some jewel that'll allow me t'see my daughter back on Earth. Give it here."
A look of incredulity crosses the keeper's face. It morphs into a scoff. "And if I don't?"
"Then I'll take it."
"Shuttup 🙂 Let me handle--"
"Hey! Anyone interested in fornicating? Six soul pennies; discount sinning!"
All eyes zip over to spot--
"The fuck? There's Purgatorial prostitutes?"
"Well yeah. Lucifer's temptations."
"Be gone, whore," Spencer replies dismissively.
"Kay. Hi Joe!!"
"Hi Sonya!!"
"Why am I not surprised..."
As she departs... "Because you're a prude. Anyway, as I was saying... Spencer, this is Jim. He's no villain, just deadset on finding a way out of Purgatory so he can return to terrestrial life with his daughter. I thought you could maybe let him use the Eye to look in on her."
"The Galaxy's Eye is a powerful distraction from the task we all must complete here. There's no escaping Purgatory. You can look upon your daughter from Paradise but if you refuse to repent for your sins you'll be Hellbound and never see her again. Do yourself a favor and forget what Joseph told you. Seek penance."
"That's the thing, Spencer...according to Yahweh and his Followers, Jim isn't supposed to be here."
"He's being hunted then...and you, Joseph, are putting my salvation at risk with this. I should vanish with the 'Eye right now."
"Come on Spencer. Just let him see her for a bit, then we'll leave. I promise."
"You never keep your promises."
"I promise... Give. Me. The 'Eye. ...Please."
The Keeper seems to quietly consider for several seconds before he turns to reenter the cabin...pauses...then disappears into the blackness beyond the threshold.
"Well now you've done it you big idiot 🙂 I told you to shut up and let me handle it."
"Don't make me crush y'Joe."
"I dare you. You'd be lost without me."
"Let's test that theory."
"Here."
Joe and Jim look back to the cabin doorway, Spencer standing there with- presumably -the Galaxy's Eye in his hand, the jewel itself mounted to a wormwood stand.
Jim stoops to receive it, marveling at how the item grows in size to fit his large hand. He lowers himself to the ground, crossing his legs, and stares into the orb. Within it an entire galaxy swirls before his eyes...this fades away and is slowly replaced by a vision, perhaps real-time, of his daughter. His heart skips. She's in her room back home on Earth playing with a Cocomelon train.
"Elora...," he whispers.
An exhale escapes Jim, happiness floods as do the tears in his eyes...
"He'll become lost in his grief."
"Let him look for awhile. He needs it."
"This was a poor decision, Joseph."
Joe and the Keeper head inside, leaving Jim to observe...

---CCPE WGWF TRAINING GROUND--
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
Flash Rotten lands one hell of a dropkick defying his weight, putting all of said into the impact sending Jim tumbling back into and through the ring ropes to land on the mat at ringside.
The portly GM chuckles.
"Hell, if I can do that to you Mister Caedus I'll have no problem whatsoever with piss-pants or his numbskull simp Sonya Monday night."
Despite his hatred for Peter Vaughn and waning confidence in being able to refrain from attacking his World Champ temporary tag partner during the match, Jim had thought it wise to lend Flash Rotten a week or two of his time to offer hands-on training in an effort to avoid a loss and allow Flash the chance to exact some measure of revenge on JMont for his actions last Brawl. After all, Flash didn't have to defeat Joe and Sonya himself, he needed only to be capable of absorbing punishment that might otherwise land him in a pinfall, KO or submission in the off-chance both Jim and Peter should be simultaneously unable to save him. Much to Jim's surprise however, the GM had thus far exceeded expectations and shown more ability in the ring than Caedus presumed he possessed.
"JMont is remedial an' Sonya somehow a shade worse brother...but don't let their incompetence fool y'into bein' overconfident," Jim calmly states as he recovers and reenters the ring. "Never underestimate an opponent. Ever. The majority 'a the notches on my overall career tally were added 'cause I myself am consistently underestimated."
As Jim once more meets him in the center of the ring... "I've never appreciated being lectured. If I were the type who needed it, I wouldn't be in the position I am toda-"
Jim interrupts Flash with a slap.
"Don't talk when yer squarin' off. Focus on fuckin' up yer enemy an' endin' the fight."
"Watch who you're smacking you son of a bi-"
Jim interrupts Flash again with a harder slap.
"Don't drop yer guard, drop the arrogance."
Anger ignites in Flash's eyes at being slapped-- twice now --by an employee. He lunges and swings with all his might. Jim easily spots the telegraph and deftly dodges three swings before kicking Flash in the gut, doubling him over, then latching on and lifting the GM in a delayed vertical suplex.
His words being levied while holding Flash aloft... "Expect t' be hit by our opponents. Harness an' focus yer anger. Lose control, y'end up gettin' caught jus' like this."
SLAM
Jim extends his hand to Flash as he curses and winces in pain on the canvas. "I'm only tryna help, sir. Better believe JMont will capitalize on every mistake y'make as best as any incontinent chimp can."
Flash accepts the help to his feet and thanks Jim with a hard kick between the legs.
"How's that for lessons learned?"
Jim staggers, clenching his jaw in pain--
--then slides in swiftly with a Wrexus Plexus kick to the sternum that knocks the wind out of Flash and takes him off his feet. Jim steps over.
"My big fat cock absorbs most 'a the impact from low blows an' allows fer quick recovery. Know yer opponent Mister Rotten, an' follow up such maneuvers wit' further punishment. That bein' said, JMont's balls are bigger than both 'is brain an' 'is dick, so, nice move regardless...an' definitely keep that card up yer sleeve fer the match.
You--"
Jim levels a pointer finger at one of five greenhorn WGWF hopefuls looking on from ringside.
"--get in here an' spar wit' Flash fer awhile."
"Yes sir!"
Jim takes his leave from the ring as Rotten rises to his feet, immediately laying into the rookie as he steps between the ropes. Good man. Never give an inch.
Satisfied for the time being, he heads for the nearby restroom and enters, takes a nice long piss in a urinal (imagining JMont's face receiving the stream), washes his hands at a sink then splashes water onto his face and stares into the mirror.
Visions of Elora flash chaotically like fireworks before his mind's eye, his eyebrows steepling in sorrow. A shaky exhale escapes him, his gaze dropping momentarily before returning to his visage in the mirror.
He recalls the events of two weeks ago, his hopes for finding his kidnapped daughter with Lycana's help dashed upon the rocks of yet another setback. Those despicable tweakers had volunteered so much information; missing pieces to the puzzle of what had happened to his home, pets and property, his baby mama, the events that had taken place during his absence in the afterlife... Yet he'd still been left without a clue as to Elora's current whereabouts.
BVVVVVVVT
Jim pulls his phone from his pocket to regard the notification: a text...
His heart leaps, his hand gripping the phone tightly, threatening to crush it.
A second message from an unknown number he safely assumed was yet again from an untraceable burner source. Why is whomever this is doing this to him? Was it truly a prank, a troll, as he'd decided the first had been?
Fuck it.
He couldn't allow this possibly meaningless text to distract him from his future task. Time was ticking down to Summer Madness and his opportunity at snatching the WGWF World Heavyweight Championship. So much of his bankroll had been spent on private aid to solve the kidnapping; now he needed more money to ensure the keeping of his home on Naples Island, a place for Elora to return safely...if she ever did. That golden strap would bring with it much higher pay and he couldn't afford to fail.
Not again.
No matter what happened or who might get involved, as with War Games he'd do whatever it would take to succeed...
For Elora.
For.
Elora.
