Austin Ramsey: “Fucking cameras.”
Austin sighed as he maneuvered around the cameras that were following him around. At this point, he wasn’t sure which of the reality TV shows this was for because he and his wife were on so many at this point. He wasn’t in a particularly good mood because today was the day that he and Todrick were going to see his psychiatrist. Today was the day that they would get to the bottom of “Austin Gate,” involving his documented 28 personalities and the alleged new one.
“To say I’m not in a good mood is the understatement of the year. I’ve been fighting for my marriage since the 8th of May and haven’t had sex since the 8th of May. I have to see Joseph Montuori’s smug face all over Twitter every fucking day when I want to take my thumbs and pop his eyes out of their fucking sockets so he can see what a homewrecking meatball he truly is.
We lost the tag team titles on Brawl, and my wife barely speaks to me. Every day I come home, and if she isn’t here, I immediately run upstairs to check her closets and drawers to ensure she hasn’t left me. That son of bitch JMont hasn’t even apologized for all the damage he’s caused me and my family. I’ll get him soon enough, and I’ll make it count. That is if Mac Bane leaves any scraps when he is done with him.
Now I have to face Nathan Miles, who will have his son Max Daemon at ringside. Great, another well-oiled machine, and I’m wondering if my wife will even attempt to help me if Max tries something at ringside. Perhaps we will get back on the same page after this appointment today. I need us to; I’m sick of this shit.“
The scene cuts back to Austin heading into the twins' bedroom, where Todrick and Daniel change their diapers. Dominic grins when he sees his father enter the room. Diana starts squirming as if she wants him to pick her up. Austin smiles at them and makes faces that make them laugh. Toddy finishes with Diana, picks her up, and hands her to her father. She silently walks out of the room. Austin sighs and says nothing. He sits down in the rocking chair and rocks her gently. Dominic slaps his brother and looks jealous that he isn’t in his dad’s arms right now. Daniel shakes his head and hands the boy to his father. Dominic smiles and tries to pull at his father’s beard.
Austin Ramsey: “So this will be beat up on Daddy Day? Or did your madre put you up to this? Perhaps this is practice for your Uncle Jason “Likes to Annoy Your Father Immensely” Cashe?
Dominic giggles as if he understands. Todrick appears in the doorway, fully dressed, and Austin knows it’s time to go. He stands up, puts the babies in their cribs, and kisses their foreheads. Daniel returns to the room, sits in the chair, and says goodbye to his parents. They walk downstairs silently, and Toddy picks up her purse off the counter. Austin opens her car door and she gets in. He closes it and walks around to his side. He gets in and sighs. He grips the steering wheel and looks at her.
Austin Ramsey: “So we are just not going to speak to one another all day?”
Toddy pursues her lips and cuts her eyes at him.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “If you have something of value to say, then say it. I’m fine sitting here minding the business that pays me.”
Austin Ramsey: “Oh for fuck’s sake..you know what, never mind. You are intentionally pushing my buttons right now. I’m not going to give you the satisfaction of whatever the end goal is here. If you want to sit in silence, fine by me.”
He backs out of the garage, and she turns on the radio. She starts playing “Fine (Junior Vasquez Marathon Mix)” by Whitney Houston.
🎵 ”If you told me from the start that you played around, then it would’ve been fine, then I would’ve played too, and I guess it would’ve been fine.” 🎵
Austin knows the lyrics and that it’s a direct shot at him about their past and turns red with anger. She was intentionally trying to set him off. He turns the radio off.
Austin Ramsey: “You wanted to sit in silence, remember? So, let’s sit in silence.”
She turns her head so he can’t see her smirk. She knew she had utterly gotten under his skin. They ride in silence until they reach the doctor’s office.
They arrive at the doctor’s office, and you can tell he’s still pissed because he walks straight in and doesn’t wait for her. Austin is still in for a bad day because as soon as he walks in, he sees Nurse Grabby. Her face lights up when she sees him. That quickly turns to a frown when his wife walks in and removes her shades, and glares at her. She checks him in with no incidents, as she can see Toddy watching her like a hawk. After she collects his vitals, she walks them to the doctor’s office. The doctor looks up and smiles.
Doctor Smith: “Welcome, please come right in and have a seat.”
Toddy grabs Austin’s hand and smiles sweetly at the doctor. Austin looks annoyed but escorts his wife to the couch. They sit down, and the doctor walks over.
Doctor Smith: “It’s so good to see you both. I know that you are looking for many answers today, Mrs. Ramsey. As you know, I’ve had several sessions with your husband alone since his head trauma at WGWF WrestleWars 8. I have some good and bad news, but we will end with good news. Your husband has not developed a new personality. What medical science cannot explain is where the others have gone, he can no longer hear them, and this seems to be a combination of all of them. That explains his change in eye color as well. It is why you see the half-green, half-black eyes.
As you know, his eye color changed as the different personalities took over. This seems to indicate that his halves are working together somehow and providing him with balance. There is danger, however. When he gets really angry, he can and will be unpredictable. The one thing that I’m confident about is that they were all operating under one constant rule, never to hurt you, his children, pets, or something he loves. You also can pull him back from the brink if you have to. The dark side has more of a sinister tone, so you will have to prepare yourself for that.
He seems to be in more control than he was before, but you won’t get any notice of him changing. It is why he speaks in the first person all the time now. Before, when he was speaking in the third person, that was an indicator. He is not a threat to you now or ever. You have nothing to worry about, Mrs. Ramsey. He told me that you were upset with him for not telling you about this change. It’s not that he was hiding it from you; it was that he didn’t understand what was happening to him to tell you anything.
I am not trying to meddle in your relationship, but I would hope that you won’t hold that against him anymore. He did not understand the changes, and I helped him work through that over the last several weeks.”
Todrick turns to look at Austin. She stares into his eyes and sees the hope in them that she understands. She moves closer to him, takes his face in her hands, and kisses him gently. A wave of relief washes over Austin, and all the tension leaves his body. She turns to look at Dr. Smith.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Thank you, Doctor. I completely understand, and I forgive him. I do have one question. Is he still going to be able to wrestle like this? Taking blows to the head is kind of in the duty description; what does this mean for him? He has a match on Monday.
Doctor Smith: “I wish I could answer that for you, Mrs. Ramsey, but I can’t explain how this happened. He says he is working with someone named Reverend Hammer, who gave him some meditation techniques that seem to be working. I would prefer that he doesn’t wrestle, but he is in top physical condition, and nothing is preventing that. His match against Nathan Miles should be a good one. Yes, I do watch the shows.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Thank you for your time, doctor. This was very beneficial.”
The happy couple rush out of the doctor’s office, and as they get into the BMW SUV, they can barely keep their hands off of one another. The cameraman clears his throat loudly, and they stop. Austin speeds off as they head home.
They burst into the house and run upstairs. Daniel hears the noises, shakes his head, and pops in his headphones. He turns on Charmed for the twins because they like horror, but this isn’t too bad. It had demons, so they would watch it. The bedroom door slams, and Toddy tosses Austin’s shirt over the camera and pushes him out of the room. After quite a while, the cameraman is allowed to re-enter. Toddy has the sheet covering her chest as her head lies on Austin’s chest. He grins at the camera and puts one arm around her and one behind his head.
Austin Ramsey: “What’s up, Rockstars? That’s right, don’t adjust your television sets, the Ramseys have fixed their marriage, and we are stronger than ever. We are on the same page, and nothing can break this bond. We will have that on full display this Monday when we take on that poor unfortunate soul Nathan Miles, who will have his alcoholic son Max Daemon in his corner.
I wonder will he be able to concentrate on me or will he have to ensure his son isn’t stealing drinks from the fans. Everyone has seen him around town; at this point, what bar hasn’t he been kicked out of? It’s always Daddy to the rescue. Well, he is supposed to rescue Daddy during this match, but selfish lushes like Max can’t pull it together to be there for the ones that love them the most. Poor Nathan, it’s sad but true.
I wish there were some magic potion that I could whip up to help you with your troubles because, in addition to this, when was the last time that anyone saw you in a WGWF ring? Ring rust is a real thing, and I am already not facing you at your best, and that is a problem for me. I want actual competition because I need to win to remind the world that Big Pun and Damage are on borrowed time with those tag team championships. I’m not one to kick a man when he’s down. Well, I’ve had the odd complaint, but on the whole, I’ve been a saint.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Calm down, Ursula.”
Austin snickers and kisses her on her forehead.
Austin Ramsey: “The boss was on a roll with this poor unfortunate soul.”
The couple laugh.
“Look, Nathan, I’m going to give it all I’ve got because you are my messenger to the world. It’s very personal because someone broke into my house and stole something very dear to me. I’m taking it back, and that road begins with you. I suggest you focus on me and me alone because my equalizer will be right by my side. The Show Stealerz are back, and there is nothing that anyone in the WGWF can do about it.”
Austin pulls Todrick closer and kisses her passionately as the scene ends.
