After having spent Thanksgiving in Dallas and having just finished the overseas tour for NFW, Zara and Marcus had opted to go back to Richmond for Christmas. Of course the green-haired woman knew that meant having to field questions left and right from her family (minus her grandmother, thankfully) about why her sister and cousin hadn’t come back home for the holidays as well. She couldn’t answer for her sister, naturally, but she didn’t mind taking the heat for Marley. Things had been wild for her cousin and cousin’s fiance, and after the way WrestleWar had gone, Zara knew that they needed time away from the Divatas’ hounding. Of course, now it was almost New Year’s Eve and the woman was getting ready to head to Las Vegas for The West Coast Rumble…not that she was taking part in the actual Rumble, but she was honored to be a part of the show. Well…she was supposed to be getting ready for hers and Marcus’ flight to Vegas, but she was scrolling on Twitter instead, which is when she saw the news from her best friend.
“Well I’ll be damned…I guess Cordy and Ollie hit it off better than we originally thought they did.”
When Marcus gave her a questioning look, the woman shook her head a little, a smile coming across her face. She turned her phone towards her boyfriend, letting him see the news that Cordelia and Ollie were engaged now. She typed out a quick reply to Ollie’s tweet then locked her phone again. Admittedly…the woman had tried calling her, but she was actually packing at the time, so Zara didn’t answer her phone.
“That was fast, but if they’re happy with each other then I’m happy for them. Besides…I read Ollie the riot act when they officially became a thing as it is. I don’t have any worries about them. Love is love, after all.”
Zara tossed her phone onto their bed then ran a hand through her hair as she glanced at her duffel bag as well as her suitcase. She rubbed her eyes and sighed, shaking her head a little. Packing was something she had always hated doing whether it was for a family trip when she was little or to go to a show.
“God I hate packing…always have and always will. Packing for 2 back to back shows doesn’t really help though, I guess.”
Marcus gave Zara a shrug which caused her to laugh a little before she turned back to her two bags.
“Might as well finish this now…our flight is in the morning after all. Oh yeah…remind me to call Cordy back later, please. You know I’ll forget.”
Getting a small nod from her boyfriend of a year, the green-haired woman sighed as she turned back to her bags, looking at what she had packed already so she knew what needed to be grabbed still. She was going to finish this within the hour even if it drove her up a wall in the process of doing so.

“My first show of the new year, and I get to go against Finn Kuhn. I have to say, I’m looking forward to facing you Finn. I know it’s your debut match, so consider this my welcome to WGWF to you! But that’s not going to make me go any easier on you when we meet later tonight.”
Zara Ivory paused, coming into view of the camera backstage. She was dressed in her ring gear and seemed as if she were ready to go at any moment. While she hadn’t really made enemies in WGWF yet, you could never be too prepared in the wrestling business. Plus, it wasn’t as if the Queens of Chaos were in a habit of making friends outside of their little group, so there was no telling when a new enemy was made or where they would pop up.
“I could go into the whole ‘a new year will bring a new me’ spiel, but I’m sure people will be doing that whole mess for the next few weeks. What I will assure people is that the new year will bring a better me in and out of the ring. I finished the year as a triple champion, and I’m starting the new year the exact same way.”
The woman began pacing up and down a small pathway where she had been standing in the hall. The hustle and bustle of the stagehands could be heard this time around, signifying that the Filipino woman hadn’t secluded herself away from everyone else like she had previously done. Why she had the sudden change in heart of doing such, well that was known only to her, but in her mind, the reasoning didn’t really matter.
“I know I’ve said I’m looking forward to just about every match that I’ve had here, so some may see it as my being insincere or trying to kiss someone’s ass. Hell, I could see myself thinking of someone that way if roles were reversed between myself and someone else. That isn’t the case for me though, despite what others think. I’ve gotten to face Cholo and Atara, and those were matches that I learned from, even more so since I lost to both of them. Whenever I lose, I rewatch my matches. I look to see where I messed up, to see what I could have done differently, and I take serious notes from it. I have someone watch with me in case I end up missing something, and I usually have someone work with me in the ring for where I screwed up. Tonight, hopefully, I can give you some valuable lessons during our match, Finn.”
The woman smiled a little as she looked towards the camera. Behind closed doors, she did usually have one of the other Queens or even her boyfriend look over her matches with her. It never did hurt to rewatch and learn what you could have done differently or better, after all. She licked her dark red painted lips and sighed softly.
“Welcome to WGWF, Finn…I’m sorry your debut has to be against me though. Although, I suppose you could be going against someone worse or not be having your debut quite yet at all. I mean…you could be going against someone that’s had a better track record here than I have, but with our match tonight, hopefully I can start a year of changes for myself within this wonderful place. Let’s go out there and give everyone a match to remember.”
Zara shrugged a little before walking down the hallway, leaving the camera where it was. She had no use for it now, after all, so she figured someone would end up getting it later. She had a match to get to, after all.
