Wolf pup development, from the transition period to juvenile
The scene opens with Samuel Chatman walking down the street of an old neighborhood. It was not an affluent area and looked pretty run down. The sun was shining, and children were playing in the street by a fire hydrant gushing water. The weather was being bipolar, as usual. The sun was shining, acting like the weather hadn’t just tried to kill everyone the day before. Sam smiled as he took in the sights of Overtown, his old neighborhood. He had grown up in Miami and had braved things that would make grown men cry.
Overtown was one of Miami’s ten most dangerous neighborhoods, but his mom and dad had done the best they could, and he didn’t fault them for growing up in those conditions. They both worked two jobs to keep a roof over his head and food in his belly. His one job was to go to school and come home with nothing less than being on the all-A honor roll. He kept to himself growing up and just focused on his studies. That all changed after graduating from middle school.
He had changed from the quiet, nerdy kid to one of the high school heartthrobs. He had discovered working out and had bulked up, and when the girls finally saw him, they were all in a tizzy, trying to get his attention. There was one young lady, however, that had already captured his heart. Akasha Monroe had grown up with Sam, and the two had been lifelong friends.
He had a small film crew following him and documenting things in his life, and this was a part of that journey. He turns and smiles at the camera as he continues walking.

“What’s up, WGWF? I’ve decided to document my life so that we can get to know one another. Some of you may know who I am, and my accomplishments and I appreciate your love and support, but I thought a new introduction was needed with a new start. So here we are in Miami, Florida, Overtown, to be exact. The place where ya boy grew up.”
He walked up to a tree and traced his fingers across the heart carved in the tree with the initials S.C. and A.M. in the middle. He couldn’t help but smile as this carving brought back many memories and feelings.

“Now, this tree brings back some memories. Without this carving, my greatest accomplishment wouldn’t be on this Earth. I’m talking about my daughter, Miss Whitney. I carved this into this tree during my freshman year of high school. It’s when me and Akasha Monroe went from best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend. I went from geek to sheik over the summer, and she knew that she had to snatch me up before the rest of the girls got to me.
She was right because I started playing football and wrestling, which drove the ladies wild. It also drove some of the fellas wild, but that’s never been my bag. I love and support everyone, so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. I had plenty of friends in the LGBTQIA+ community, and if people had an issue with it, no one dared to say that shit to my face. I’ve always been secure about precisely who I am and what I want. Love is love, and a person’s sexuality is a part of them, but it doesn’t define who they are. I guess growing up the way I did opened my eyes about judging people who are different from me. That’s who I am, and that will never change.
But yeah, I started feeling myself and my gifts started showing themselves, and next thing I knew, I was on the varsity squads and a big man on campus. Akasha kept me grounded, but she was no stranger to popularity herself, she had quickly risen up the ranks, and the next thing either of us knew, I was the captain of the football and wrestling team, and she was the head cheerleader. Picture perfect romance, right? Yeah, no, I fucked that up repeatedly, but she stuck with me.
I had help from a friend that soon became my little sister; you all know her as “The Cutie With The Booty” yeah, Mrs. Todrick Tabor-Ramsey herself. The better Ramsey, I think. Haha, calm down, Lil dude, if you are watching this. We all know Austin gets touchy about things. We met that year, and the three of us were inseparable. She saved my ass so many times because all this new fame went straight to my head, and I had trouble not sticking my thing into a lot of other things.
Those were not my finest moments, but she stuck with me through high school. Then we set out to make our dreams come true with professional wrestling. The first place we landed was in the ZXWWF. The owner took a chance on this pretty boy and gave me a job. I trained with Ivory, a legend in her own right, and saw great success. Akasha came several months later, but we still had the same problems because, good god, do the girls throw that “thang” at you when you are on their television screens, and they see you at live events.
I was young and wild. Akasha finally got tired of my shit, and we broke up for quite a while. We remained close friends, and that was good for both of us. One night Toddy, who had moved to Vegas, flew in, and we were all catching up and drinking, and the old feelings swept over us, and when it was bedtime, Toddy went to her room, and Akasha came to mine. Nine months later, Miss Whitney blessed us with her entrance to the world. We vowed to be the best co-parents we could be, and that is something we have done, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. It’s how I ended up living in ATL. For years, Akasha lived where things were convenient for me, but when I took a hiatus from wrestling, it was time for me to return the favor.
That little girl changed my life, I grew up the moment she was born, and when they placed her in my arms, life suddenly made sense to me. Now life consists of me splitting my time between Manhattan, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Thank God for the Ramsey’s letting me crash at their place in Vegas and Manhattan; I spend time with my fiancé Kylie in ATL and LA, where she owns and runs Naked Bar, I dance at the Velvet Rabbit on Saturdays, and now I wrestle in Vegas. Amidst that, I make time for the two influential women in my life, work, and maintain my friendships. Yeah, I’m a pretty busy guy.
Funny how fatherhood will change you when words never could. She is mine, and I am hers, and she knows it too. She is the definition of Daddy’s Girl, and sometimes it drives Akasha nuts, and we secretly laugh about it but never to her face. Damn, I guess that’s over now; I gotta give my princess a safety brief later. Well, that was a brief look into my past. Let’s talk about the present. See you in a few.”
The scene fades to black.
Wolf development, from juvenile to adult
The scene opens with Samuel dressed in a red suit, a white A-Shirt, and red and white sneakers. Unlike the earlier portion of this series, he was adorned with jewelry. He didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention in Overtown, and his jewelry would’ve done just that. It was bad enough that cameras were there, but that would keep people away who didn’t want to be on television. The jewelry would have caused desperation to overcome that secretive behavior, and everyone would’ve been robbed.
He snapped a few photos for Twitter and “the Gram” and posted them. He had flown to Atlanta and was happy to be home. He was going to step out to Naked Bar ATL tonight, and since he was engaged to the owner, he had to put his best foot forward. He didn’t have to worry about a babysitter this evening because Austin and Todrick had flown down so they could go to a doctor’s appointment with their surrogate. He was glad to let them stay with him when they flew into town, so he didn’t feel like a bum for staying with them so much.
They came downstairs, and Miss Whitney was dressed in matching princess pajamas with her aunt Toddy. She wanted to say good night to her Daddy. He dropped to one knee, and she ran over to him, kissed him on the cheek, and hugged him. Sam hugged her tight. She was growing up so fast, and he cherished every moment with her. She used to cry when he left, but as she got older, she learned to stop wasting time and tears on that because Daddy would always come back. She waved goodbye to him, took Austin and Todrick’s hands in hers, and led them to her playroom. He waved back and exited the house. He got into “Papa Smurf” his Mercedes Benz SUV, and his phone buzzed. He looked and saw a text from Akasha Monroe.
Text from Akasha Monroe: The deal is set in stone; you should have a WGWF contract in your inbox that I need you to digitally sign and send back to me ASAP. Congratulations, I know this is what you have wanted for a while, and I’m happy to make it happen for you. Also, your first match will be at the West Coast Rumble against someone you know from your AGW days. It will be “The Real Untamed Demon”. Sign the contract before you go out and start drinking tonight. If you don't, I will wake you up in the most unpleasant way. Don’t play with me, boy!
Sam chuckled, but he knew she meant it. She was his business manager for as long as he could remember, and besides, a good deal for him only meant good things for their daughter, so she happily managed his business ventures. He opened his e-mail and digitally signed and initialed in all the required spots. He didn’t need to read it because he trusted her completely. He had also seen her in action many times at the table negotiating deals for him. She was a sight to behold in her power suits, with no hair out of place and a manicure that screamed lady boss. He hit send and drove off into the night. The cameras continued filming, and Sam began speaking to them as he drove.

Samuel Chatman: “Y’all saw that text from Akasha? It’s official, Daddy now wrestles for the WGWF. I’m pretty excited about that. I’ve really been itching to get back into the ring for quite a while. I was off to a good start earlier this year before OPW took a hiatus. I can’t dwell on that, though, I know upper management had some personal shit going on, and I wish him the best. I pray that he pulls through and is a new man. When he's ready, I’ll be there as a support system.
Look at fate, here I am, ready to talk to you about my transition from a juvenile to an adult and how that applies to my new beginning, and the ghost of Christmas past has resurfaced. “The Real Untamed Demon” is a name I haven’t heard in several years, not since our days in AGW. Truth be told, I don’t know what his actual name is, never did. He was just a big Shrek-looking ogre that I had the pleasure of putting down when we faced one another. He kinda smelled like Shrek too. I hope he fixed that since our time apart.
I can’t say I kept up with his career after leaving that place. Me and Toddy finished our contracts and ran away from that place as fast as we could. I don’t speak ill of the dead, so I won’t speak on my time there. The one good thing that came out of it was that I was recruited to Fade 2 Black and met a lot of good people there. That was a place where I flourished, and I embraced that I didn’t have to be a good guy or a bad guy, I just needed to be myself, and that was enough. It was one of the few places in my career that really felt like home. It was also the place where I almost killed Austin Ramsey, but that’s a story for another day.”
Sam chuckles and shakes his head. He will never forget those days. A frustrated look comes across his face, and he turns to look at the camera.

“I’m really not being an asshole here when I say that I don’t remember Damage all that well. He was secretive, and some said he was a hitman, but I never bought into that kind of stuff. He was an obstacle in my path to greatness. I remember he gave me one hell of a fight. I remember that I was bruised and sore after our match because I had to move some modeling gigs around after that match while I healed back up. He pushed me more than most and I barely made it outta there with the “W” but history will forever remember my hand raised in victory that night.
I wonder if that still haunts him and is one of the wrongs that he wishes to right. That is a dream that I will see go unfulfilled if he does. I don’t care about his hopes and dreams. I don’t care that he is making a comeback. I don’t care about his ambitions or what drives him. I don’t care about any of that because this is my story, my return to glory; it’s my time. As far as I’m concerned, he is just one more monster for me to vanquish as I climb to glory for my fairytale ending. They once called me “The Crown Prince”; I believe I went by that name when I slew him the last time.
People always think I’m the underdog in these fights and treat me like it’s David versus Goliath, but I’m 6’2 and full of lean muscle, and I can fly through the air like the best of them. I’m far from an underdog. He has a height and weight advantage, but that won’t deter me from putting him on his ass and then flat on his back for the 1..2..3. There has to be a winner, and there has to be a loser, and it's going to come down to who wants it more. No one is derailing this train, and that’s on everything.”
They pull up to the club, and with the camera in tow, Samuel walks up to the bouncer, and they shake hands. The crowd recognizes him and begins to cheer. He flashes them a sexy smile and waves as he walks through the door and heads toward one of the VIP lounges. A waitress brings over a bottle of Ciroc vodka, cranberry juice, and orange juice. She makes Sam a drink, and after tossing a few back, he looks at the camera and sees the red light.

“Guess y’all saw that; there’s nothing wrong with cutting loose now and then. For those who have followed my journey since the beginning, I’m not turning into an angry drunk again. Those days are behind me. I’m not that juvenile dude that you used to know. Daddy is a full-grown adult wolf now. That’s both a blessing and a curse because I am a hungry wolf, and my prey is “The Real Untamed Demon”, and I am going to feast at the West Coast Rumble.
I vaguely remember this dude from our days in AGW, but I know that you remember me, don’t you, big fella? They say, don’t poke the bear, but fuck all that, poke poke, bitch. I want to face you at your very best; I want you as mad as a hornet so that you have zero excuses when I put you on your ass at the Rumble. Are you mad yet? You will be by the time I’m done with you. I’m going to make you wish that you hadn’t emerged from whatever cave you’ve been hiding in to give this “one more try”. I’m an apex predator, and you are my prey.
I don’t want to hear shit about ring rust or any bullshit ass excuse, you drew the short straw when they announced you were fighting me, and you know it. There are so many “demons” in this game that it isn’t scary anymore. Oh, there are many wolves as well, but the difference is that I’m the lone wolf, and I stand out. I tried running in packs, but they couldn’t handle my swag, hunger, and drive, so I go it alone like I always have. When the dust settles, and you are staring up at the arena ceiling, remember that it was me that put you there. I’m going to send you back to hell where you belong and end your dream once and for all.
It's not personal; all business, but I don’t have time to keep looking over my shoulder for your “revenge” after I humiliate you. I can look at you and see that you don’t take an “L” with grace. That means I must exorcise the demon. Call me Constantine because back to hell you go. See you at the Rumble snack pack.
Sam sucks his teeth as the scene fades to black.
