LV, NEV- Nathan Lucas has already made quite a name for himself in the WGWF since making his way over from PWE. Not only has he won over the fans with his charming personality, rugged good looks, and dominating in-ring performances; but he is also primed to shatter the company record for longest Television title reign, which is currently held by Dean James, and has already surpassed the divisions record for most successful title defenses with an impressive half dozen. However, it would appear that his days atop that particular heap may soon be over as Nathan has accepted a spot in the prestigious 'Master of the Mat' tournament which kicks off tonight in Tampa Bay, Florida. The winner of the 16-contestant event receives a guaranteed title shot at any belt of their choosing... and it's a safe bet that should Nathan win, he won't be cashing in against himself. His first round opponent will be Genesis member, Kenny Radical, a former Intercontinental Champion who was once tapped to be the future of this company. In a war of words waged on the companies website, Radical brought the personal in with the professional, and made several references to Nathan's brother and current training partner, Christopher Lucas. Lucas is a former Golden Gloves boxer and a collegiate wrestler, currently fighting professionally for a Chicago based mixed martial arts company and sporting an impressive 17-2 record, including a seven month reign atop their 185 lb. division in the second half of 2009. Christopher was apparently caught off guard by the comments, and described his reaction as "a mixture of amusement and mild annoyance". Now in true Lucas fashion, just hours before his brother takes the ring against Radical, Christopher has released a surprising statement, and an even more surprising challenge. "Padded pussy mitts? Is this really what my brother has chosen to do with his life? Run around with a bunch of morons who think just because they throw a vagina reference into a sentence their word is pure gold? I can't even figure out what this guy is trying to say half of the time! One second he's telling us he'd pick Nathan and I over the Ryan brothers in a tag-team match, the next he's telling us that our grappling gloves make us little bitches and the Ryan's would put us to shame because they go bare-knuckled... Then, he had to go over the line and try and talk about my family like he knows us? News flash, Radowski, you don't know shit about us or our lives so back the fuck off unless you want to get rocked, after Nathan has the pleasure of doing it tonight, of course.
Oh man, I think I just had a light bulb go off... You want to sit there and run your mouth about me when I don't even know who the hell you are, and you want to tell me who in this company is capable of caving in my skull... why don't you give it a shot yourself? Let's face it, you're not winning this tournament and as history would tell us you're incapable of getting on a PPV card any other way. I've been looking for a way to "broaden my horizons" and you're looking for a way to pick up an extra paycheck this month... Why not try backing up your shit talking for once in your life?
Christopher Lucas vs. Kenny Radical, one-night only in Toronto, Ontario Canada. It sounds awesome to me."An intriguing challenge from someone that's not even a member of the WGWF roster, but no word yet as to whether or not Radical will even consider accepting. More details as they become available. - Associated Press

Miami, FL - Wrestling Illustrated sat down with WGWF Superstar Kenny Radical on Sunday to talk about the up-coming "Masters of the Matt" Tournament. Radical, always one for a sarcastic response or ten, was actually professional and quite serious about the interview. Specifically, when asked about his first round opponent this week, Nathan Lucas, Kenny had this to say:
"Maybe I'll try a bit of humility, eh? Nathan Lucas is a beast of a competitor. He's the TV Champ and may wind up being the best to ever hold that belt. But he's never faced-off against me. He and I just might be two of the cockiest sonsofbitches in this business, but, alas, he's got more to his bark than I do...on paper. Lucas and I are gonna bring the house down in Tampa, for sure. May the best man win."
Another question, regarding remarks made by Nathan's brother, Chris, brought Radical to a different mood. Apparently he had no idea of the challenge laid out by champion fighter:
"Who's this, now? You know, it's all good when you can run your mouth outside the ring. Chris has no idea what I'm capable of because he's no idea what it takes to be in the business I'm in, much like I have no idea about what it takes to be in his. He's making a challenge to Kenny Radical on the grounds of what? Me talking trash towards his brother just days before our huge match on Monday? Hey, Chris let me ask you something. Do you have any idea, any whatsoever, what you're doing? Nathan came into this company a fighter, like you, and lost his first match. You're wanting a match against me? You got it, my friend. Just want you to know, you'll follow in your brother's footsteps."

LV, NEV- It was most definitely a night to remember when the WGWF rolled into Tampa Bay, Florida this past Monday night. Former World Champion Nick Ryan bid adieu to the business that's long defined him as he stepped into retirement, James Raven earned a measure of revenge over a year in the making as he took out Dean James in the Master of the Mat tournament, Mia Sanchez made a triumphant return to the sport just three months after the birth of her first child... factor in nearly a dozen other things that left the sold out crowd slack jawed and stunned, and you have the makings of one of the most historic Brawl editions in recent memory. For one particular set of brothers, however, one moment was head and shoulders above all of the others. In a first round match up of the Master of the Mat tournament, Nathan Lucas took out former Intercontinental Champion Kenny Radical. However, it was not without controversy as Lucas received some unconventional assistance from his brother Christopher (unsigned by the company) in the form of a ringside visit that left Kenny distracted just long enough for Nathan to roll him up and steal the victory. Radical was reportedly fuming after the match, but was unavailable for comment. The two brothers, on the other hand, were more than willing to speak to the media. "It's like I told him before the match, he didn't measure up to me," said Nathan, "He WAS the future of this company and now I AM. There's only so long he can ride mediocrity and past accomplishments before he joins Seth Stevens at Tops, cashing in his food stamps and unemployment."While the impressive victory advances the champion to he next round, he wasn't the one the media wanted to get a comment from. Instead they surrounded Christopher Lucas like a baseball player that had just hit a walk off home run to win the World Series. The questions all surrounded one topic; the bitter war of words the older brother found himself in just hours before show time. "I was just as surprised as you were when Kenny manned up. I don't just mean that he responded to me, because let's face it... when does a member of Genesis NOT want to flap their gums? I was surprised he actually accepted my challenge for the pay per view. He may have had a point though, I sent that statement out when the emotions were still running hot. I didn't think it through all the way. Don't worry, though, I'm not backing out... I just need to get a little more work between the ropes in before then. Nathan knocked your ass out, Kenny, now it's my turn. If Page and Ranma let us sign that contract, I'll be seeing you in Toronto."- Associated Press

CCP had this to say regarding this subject matter:
"After last night's chain of event involving Christopher Lucas, I can CONFIRM that after consulting with Ranma, which is a challenge in own right, Kenny Radical and Christopher Lucas HAS BEEN added to the Masters of the Mat Pay-Per-View Lineup..."
