THE FOLLOWING EVENTS TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE EVENTS IN UPCOMING RP:
Immediately Following Brawl In Salt Lake City:
Peter Vaughn is in his locker room, packing his bags for the road to the next city. He chuckles to himself as he shakes his head, having completed an easy night against a newbie.
Just as he zips his bag, he hears the door to his dressing room open. He turns his head, and has a concerned look on his face. His nose crinkles a bit, and he stands up quickly, getting into a defensive stance.
“HI!” Jenny steps into his bubble, a bit closer than he would like. Despite her cheery tone, he doesn’t take his fists down.
“Whoa Petey! Why so tense?! I’m not here to attack ya!”
Her tone has a hint of snark.
“You don’t have anything I want……”
Peter loosens up a bit, but he doesn’t fully trust Jenny.
“Then why are you here?”
“Wellllllll………….”
She giggles a bit, pointing her toes inward as she brings her legs together, her fingers interlocked.
“Have you heard about next week’s Brawl, in Dallas?!”
Peter seems perplexed at the question and raises an eyebrow. “No, why would I have heard about that? The fans haven’t even left the arena here yet……”
“Well…………..”
She giggles again.
“I have some inside knowledge! A little birdie told me a secret, and that’s why I am here.”
“I don’t have time, or patience, for games, Jen.”
“But games are so fun! Ooooo! Speaking of games, have you tried Monopoly Go! Yet? It’s SO addicting.”
Peter huffs, slinging his bag over his shoulder and walking past Jenny. Just as he gets his palm on the door handle, he freezes.
“It’s you and me, Petey.”
He turns around, a smile on his face. His eyes instinctively glance at the Television Title over her shoulder. Jenny’s eyes go wide, and she gasps.
“NO! That’s not…..don’t you dare look at Miriam like that! Filthy mind!”
Peter’s lip begins to curl a bit. He is clearly annoyed with her, but he takes a deep breath and speaks softly.
“Then can you please get to your point? I want to get on the road.”
Jenny has a sharp intake of breath and a big smile crosses her face.
“So you DO drive from show to show!”
Peter sighs, “Yes, and?”
Jenny jumps a little and claps. If one didn’t know her, you’d think she just heard the best news she’d ever heard.
“So next Brawl, it's you and me……..but not as opponents…….as………..”
She squeals.
“PARTNERS!”
Peter had a look on his face like a patient that just got told they had an inoperable tumor at the base on their spine. Being the veteran that he is, though, he quickly bounced back. With a long exhale, he composed himself and asked, “and who did the little birdie tell you we’re facing?”
Without missing a beat, Jenny responded with the same fervor of a child who had the best news of their young life.
“Goth and Bobby Ray Willis!”
He nodded in silent acceptance, before turning to walk out.
"Whoa whoa whoa hold on!"
With a sigh that signified his annoyance, as if he wasn't clear enough to this point, he turned around.
"What, Jen?"
"I was thinnnnkkkkkinngggg.................Mayyybbbeeee..............Miriam and I ride with you?"
"To Dallas?"
"Yes!"
"Almost 20 hours in the car."
"Yes!"
".......I'm all set, I'll just see you in the ring."
He goes to walk out again and Jenny steps in front.
"Come on! It'll be fun! We can have a bonding experience, really get to know each other as partners!"
"I am alright, really....."
"Building trust is important......"
"Really, it's fine....."
"We can get to know each other better."
"No thanks."
"I'll pay for gas and snacks!"
..............................
*sigh*
"Alright, but I swear to god if you try anything funny I'll toss you out so fast your head will spin----"
"DEAL!"
She claps again and exits the dressing room. He exhales again, clearly regretting his decision, and follows after her.
It was a chilly night in Salt Lake City. The parking lot was dimy lit by street lights, and the employee lot was beginning to fill up with superstars exiting for the night.
Peter walked to his truck, his pride and joy. Jenny lit up again, her eyes scanning the ton-and-a-half of steel that she would be spending the next 20 hours inside of.
"This is Gabriella........." he said, unlocking the truck and opening the door.
"Oh my god! Stiff-as-a-board Peter Vaughn gave his truck a name?!"
"Is that a bad thing?"
"No! I ADORE that!" Jenny opened the back door and tossed her bag inside. "Maybe there is more to you than meets the eye."
"Clearly..." Peter huffed as he got into the drivers seat.
Just as he was getting ready to pull away, the truck dinged that there was a door open. He looked back.
Jenny was standing by the back door, and was fiddling with the seat belt.
"What are you doing?!"
"I am making sure Miriam is strapped in correctly!"
Jenny had the belt propped up in a vertical position, and was trying to get it to stay in such a way that she could get the seatbelt buckled over it.
"Really?"
"Safety first!"
Peter rolled his eyes. "Okay, well....just hurry up then, I guess."
Finally she got the belt strapped in. She shut the door harder than he would have liked her too, and hopped into the front seat. "Hope you don't mind if Amber tags along."
"Amber?"
Jenny sits her doll on her lap.
Peter huffs again, and mumbles something along the lines of "fine."
Jenny smiles at her reflection in the icy window as the truck rolls out of the lot.
