Family Reunion
Ragnarök was creating waves within the WGWF community. When he first came back, he wanted to do his own thing. Now he was aligned with those who truly loved him. However, he chose to create chaos behind the scenes. It was always the little things that made the difference with him. The growth shown by Ragnarök over the year meant he wasn't looking over his shoulder like most instead he continued about his business heading for South Beach, Miami, Florida the host of Summer Madness. However, before the WGWF fans took over South Beach the Kaseya Center had been rented out by the long-lost relatives of Ragnarök who made the special trip. It was something neither of them thought was possible but knowing the event and hearing the news Ragnarök sent to them a few weeks back they decided to not just support him but finally close a chapter with each other. Pulling into a parking spot near the entrance he sat in the car dressed in a nice suit. He got out adjusted the collar and wondered just how many would show up today. He walked through the entrance when he spotted his half-brother Karnos. They haven't spoken in over twenty years. It was clearly an emotional day as they hugged each one another.
Ragnarök: Karnos, I never thought I'd see the day. We were kids the last time I saw you. I blame my parents for taking me away to parts unknown and shutting me off from the world.
Karnos just stared at his brother before smiling.
Karnos: Ragnarök, you're my brother. This is our family of course I was going to be here. We might not have stayed in touch, but I never forget what's important. I know we haven't connected since you left and that's on me. You seem to be doing well. In fact, I read about you each week wanting to take on the very best in this business. A business that I'll be honest I didn't think you'd be successful in.
Ragnarök: You know it used to bother me when those who love me or know of me doubt me but it's a part of life now.
Karnos: I understand that. However, this reunion is about you and the future. I'm not sure anyone told you but you're the guest speaker tonight You are going to see every living member of the family young to old.
The news took Ragnarök by surprise. He didn't really feel like speaking but nonetheless it wasn't something he could get out of. So he changed the topic for the moment.
Ragnarök: I'm a bit hungry where's the food?
Karnos: I got you. Follow me.
Both of them made their way to a huge open space where a buffet was set up. Family members from all around the world were present and Ragnarök took a little time to introduce himself before taking a moment to enjoy the food. He sat down offering Karnos a spot net to him. Ragnarök was barely done eating when the entire family got a single text message.
“Ragnarök is about to speak. Head to the banquet hall on the ground level.”
He read those words and got annoyed. He hoped it was all a joke as everyone stopped what they were doing and went downstairs entering the hall. Once inside he saw the red carpet rolled out and smiled. His family truly cared about him and loved him deeply. Truth was for weeks now Ragnarök could barely sleep. Chris Page was on his mind and now Pogo the Clown was joining the craziness of his match. He walked toward the stage and stood behind the podium. One by one family entered and took a seat. Once the conference hall was full the doors were shut as the lights darkened and one single beam of light shined down upon him.
Ragnarök: Thank you everyone for this surprise. When I heard a family reunion was happening, I truly didn't believe it. Then again, I never thought I'd see the day when I was wrestling for over two decades and nearly two thousand matches under my belt. So, the world has truly made me a different man. I came into WGWF a bitter man. An angry man. Someone who just wanted to hurt people. I didn't see the good in people or acknowledged those who never gave up on me. Then this year I took a small hiatus and realized that I wanted to go out with a bang. I wanted this to be the best year of my career no matter what the results. So early on I called out the biggest names I could think of at the time to compete with me. I've learned respect for those who did this before me and for anyone doing this after me. Here it is nearly September, and my battles are drawing to a close. It was getting hard to make a decision. Who could I get in the ring with one final time and make a highlight reel in doing so. Then it dawned on me that one legend was left on my list. Someone who gave me a chance when few would. Someone who treated me with respect from day one and never judged me. His name is Chris Page.
The room cheered. They heard the stories.
I'll admit I took the man lightly at first. Not in the sense he was washed up because he can still compete at the highest level. I took him lightly about everything else. I didn't think he would attack me behind my back. I didn't think he would talk about me in a way that is beyond disrespectful. All I did was ask him for a match. I never asked to make it personal but here we are only days away from beating the holy hell out of one another. Page wanted this match to be special and steal the show and his way of doing that was making it a last man standing match. Is that supposed to scare me? Is it supposed to make me hide in the shadows and let you get the psychological edge on a fucking warrior.
His family had a mixed reaction to everything being said to this point, but he was on a roll, and they didn't want to stop him.
Summer Madness is where all the games end Page. It is the end of summer and the beginning of a new chapter. I know you did this to benefit yourself, but I've made a living on spoiling celebrations. Not only will you NOT be the last man standing but you'll be the first one to bleed. You will be the only man to cry and beg for mercy as I slap the flesh off your chest. You've known me for nearly two years and still have no fucking clue who I really am. All of you have seen different versions of me and it's by design. A true warrior, champion and competitor never gives away his true identity. Something you did a while back. No matter how much we praise Chris Page for the accolades and reputation he has throughout the industry it doesn't change that you're an old man. You hold on to the hope that you can rekindle something that is no longer there. WGWF is something you took over because you didn't want to deal with the stress of full-time wrestler status anymore. Maybe you're cocky and not wanting to truly step away because you will be replaced by someone better, faster and smarter. It happens to everyone and it's okay to be that guy. You've had the moment in the spotlight. Winning championships, building a foundation of success that all of us want but step-aside and let things fade into existence.
He left the podium greeting all the family with a smile. Shook hands with them. Gave them kisses and hugs but continued speaking.
Page wants to make me forget everything. You want to beat my face so bad I swell and never look the same again. Bring it on. I want this version of Page. I've been around for a while and seen you evolve and in years past you were weak. Maybe you got stronger to deal with the changing landscape but thank you for giving me the best version of yourself. It makes the victory too sweet and the look on your face when Pogo and I celebrate over your bloody fucking body for this is my final curtain call.
He looked around as he walked out of the room. It was nice meeting family but right now South Beach was about to be the final resting place of Chris Page. Ragnarök kicked the arena doors open as the shine hit his face. A huge smirk appeared as the scene fades to darkness.
OOC: I already spoke with Page but had my first RP blow up in my face. Leave for Florida tonight for seven days and wanted to get something decent up. Thanks for accepting the match Mr. Page.
