We open up inside a popular Swimsuit store in Miami Florida, Emily scans the diverse displays of bikinis and one piece. The store was stationed in a high-class area of Miami. Sitting between high-end fashion shops and cafes. The Miami sun streamed through the big windows of the store, giving a perfect vibe for her mission today. The cool interior of the store was a good contrast to the outside blazing heat, the scent of the store was filled with coconut and sea salt. Just then the doors to the establishment opened up and Emily's Coach Joe Brady walked in giving off a casual but focused look. He brought a bit of a balance to Emily's exuberance as he joined her in her shopping adventure.
Coach Joe Brady: You know when you asked me to help you do some extra preparation for your Summer Madness match, I didn't think you meant let's go shopping…
He looks around the store with an uncomfortable facial expression.
Emily Dawson: Yes we are technically shopping, but this is necessary Coach.
Coach Joe Brady raises an eyebrow.
Coach Joe Brady: How so?
Emily walks over to a section with bright colors as she smiles.
Emily Dawson: Because this isn't just an ordinary regular match, this is going to be the first-ever South Pointe Pier Match. So I want to make sure I look good in my first premium live event and just in case I go over the pier at least I'll already be a swimsuit ready!
Emily continued to move from rack to rack with excitement, looking at various swimsuits that looked flashier than the last, while Coach Joe Brady just observed.
Coach Joe Brady: Yes this match you have scheduled with David Francis is not my taste and I rather you be competing in something more traditional, but I guess this is better than being left off the card.
Emily turns around from the rack and looks back at Brady with a smirk.
Emily Dawson: Yes I know you hate fun but this match is going to be just that. Sure the goal is to win but the worst thing that could happen is I get a little wet.
Coach Joe Brady makes a disapproving facial expression but then nods his head in understanding.
Coach Joe Brady: Well that's one way of looking at it, but I'm Just glad you aren't feeling down after losing your debut match to Heather, I know how much you were looking forward to starting your wrestling journey with a win.
Emily looks over her shoulder back at Coach Joe Brady.
Emily Dawson: I mean I was bumped out at first about it, but I remembered what you always told us in class. A wrestler isn't defined by one win or loss, it's about what you do over a period of time that defines your legacy, and mine has just started. I have plenty of time to make up for that loss and show everyone I can go as far as to the top as I believe I can.
Coach Joe Brady nods his head.
Coach Joe Brady: I'm glad to hear that because I didn't want you to let this shake your confidence. Heather has more experience than you and that was always an edge she had and it would've been good to overcome that early in your career but you have plenty of time to learn and grow into the wrestler you are meant to be, and I'm going to help you get there by starting with this ridiculous match you're in.
Emily pulled a red bright bikini off the rack and pressed it against her body.
Emily Dawson: I think I'm going to go try this on.
Emily excitedly skips over to the changing room and then enters one of the vacant rooms to try on the bikini while Coach Joe Brady respectfully stays outside the room with his back turned.
Coach Joe Brady: Now part of my strategy to help get you to your first win in the WGWF is to get you back focused because I do think you've been having too much fun trying to be everyone's friend in the locker room. I've seen how you've been around Johnny and now this guy Romeo is getting some of your attention.
Coach Joe Brady shakes his head a little.
Coach Joe Brady: What I'm saying is that I don't want you to forget what you've been training and working so hard for because I know how much you love this great sport, it's one of the reasons I took you on at the University.
The door that Emily was changing in opens and she comes out with a pleasing smile on her face as she has the bikini in her hand.
Emily Dawson: It fits and I looked good in it and I hear you Coach, and I promise my focus on what's most important is not displaced. I am so dedicated to wrestling, I have been since I have five years old, and nothing is going to change that.
Emily pauses for a moment.
Emily Dawson: People may have their opinions on Johnny and Romeo but I see the good in them and I believe that good in them will show one day.
Coach Joe Brady shakes his head with a smirk on his face.
Coach Joe Brady: You have such a big heart and always see the best in people, it's a good trait to have, but I'm just worried that these two might let you down but this is your wrestling career and I have to let you navigate it.
Emily smiles softly.
Emily Dawson: Thank you, Coach. But I have faith in people, even when it's not easy to do or to see. That's just who I am and I always will be, I probably wouldn't be here today if someone didn't put their faith in me.
Coach Joe Brady's facial expression softens as Emily looks at him with a smirk.
Coach Joe Brady: You got a point, but I just want to make sure you stay on the right path because I've seen a lot of talent get guided down the wrong path because they trusted the wrong people. You're a special talent Emily and I don't want to see you go to waste is all.
Emily walks back to the mirror and looks at the bikini again while she considers his words.
Emily Dawson: I understand, and I’m not going to repeat those same mistakes made by others. I’m going to earn my win at Summer Madness and look good while doing it. I’ll keep pushing forward, I know what I want and I’m going to get it.
Coach Joe Brady nods his head.
Coach Joe Brady: That’s what I like to hear, now let’s go pay for this swimsuit so I can get you down to the beach for training.
Emily looks at Brady as they made their way to the register.
Emily Dawson: Training on the beach?
Coach Joe Brady smirks.
Coach Joe Brady: You’ll see.
The scene closes as Emily makes her purchase.
A couple days later at a beach location in Miami Florida, where a wrestling ring has been set up. The floor of the ring has been soaked in water, and several small pools filled with water have been placed around the outside of the ring. Emily stands in the ring wearing her swimsuit and wrestling boots while dripping wet. Coach Joe Brady stands on the outside with a stopwatch in his hand while giving out instructions to several people armed with water guns , stationed around the ring and shooting water directly at Emily while a a muscular student from the university named Jordan Young tries to grab her and toss her over the ropes and into the pool water below.
Emily uses her speed and agility to dodge him while trying to keep her balance as the grip of her boots struggles against the wet floor of the ring.
Coach Joe Brady: That's right Dawson! Move those feet! That pier floor is going to be a lot slippery than this ring. You think evading Jordan is hard? Wait until David Francis comes at you with all his hardcore wrestling skills, he’ll do anything to get you wet and win the match so you have to be quick on your feet even if the floor is slippery.
Emily dodges a grab and delivers a swift kick to Jordan's midsection sending him staggering backward as the water guns squirt at her again, but she keeps moving. Emily grits her teeth as she avoids another grab.
Emily Dawson: You’ll have to do better than that!
Coach Joe Brady nods his head as he looks impressed.
Coach Joe Brady: That's it, Dawson! Remember how its not about just the fight but also about staying on the pier, you can't get sloppy in there or you'll catch some bad luck and end up swimming with the fishes.
Jordan charges after Emily again but she sidesteps and uses his momentum to send him into the ropes and then she flips him over and he splashes down into the pool and Emily's face lights up and starts jumping up and down as Coach Joe Brady blows his whistle, signaling the end of the drill. The water gun shooters lower their weapons and Jordan walks off to get dried up in the sun. Coach Joe Brady helps Dasson out of the ring and then they take a walk down the beach.
Coach Joe Brady: You did good today Dawson, but don't get too cocky about it. David Francis is going to be coming at you with more aggression, he's a hardcore guy and they mostly just want to fish out as much pain as possible and I got a feeling he's going to come at you aggressively, try to hurt you as much as possible but will use that against him. Because while he's out for blood you'll already have the strategy and training to overcome that and send him into water.
Emily nods her head as she keeps pace with him on the beach.
Emily Dawson: I understand Coach, I'm not getting ahead of myself. I know today was just a taste of what's to come at Summer Madness, I know it'll be an actual Pier instead of a ring and I know David is going to give me everything he's got to win, but I'm going to remember to use my environment around me on the pier to my advantage and not to panic when it gets slippery and wet.
Coach Joe Brady nods his head of approval.
Coach Joe Brady: That's right and I bet David hasn't been training for this like we have, he's back at whatever gym he's usually at, training for this like it's a regular match but it's not. Its very chaotic and unpredictable, but because of this unique training session you'll be ready for the chaos and unpredictability that can come at you, I have great confidence that you'll bounce back and get your first win in the WGWF at one of the biggest shows of the year.
Emily nods her head.
Emily Dawson: I'm fighting not only to win but to prove to everyone that no matter how hard or how many times you get knocked down that you can always dust yourself off and get back up and overcome that obstacle and win. At Summer Madness I'm going to show that losing to Heather didn't detour me, it fueled me to get better and I'm going to show that at Summer Madness.
Coach Joe Brady gives a nod of approval as the scene fades out with them walking down Miami Beach during the sunset over the crystal blue ocean water.
Coach Joe Brady: You know when you asked me to help you do some extra preparation for your Summer Madness match, I didn't think you meant let's go shopping…
