Jetta had seen a lot of storms during her life at sea. Many fellow pirates had met their end at the wrath of Mother Nature’s hand. She always braved through it though. Beat it back like her fellow crew of the Razor’s Edge would when other pirates tried to board and plunder them.
But the past six months had been our little pirate lass's roughest storm. She’d been injured by that no-good scallywag Amber Mansley and that landlubber port hole Clyde Newton. For the first few months our proud pirate’s eyes would close and see Amber’s smirking face taunting her, and alongside her mocking face would be Clyde Newton’s. Jetta would wake up in sweat, her eyes burning with a feeling she didn’t like.
RAGE
But over time those two faces would fade and when she closed her eyes she’d see her First Friend Devlin Knight! The kind and brave man who’d set aside his torrid past to forge a new path full of honor and character befitting his last name. He was the first to befriend her in WGWF. Knight could’ve dismissed her at first sight, being a legend and all, but he hadn’t. His simple act of saying hello and offering a friendly hand had earned him an undying and unrelenting loyalty from our determined little sea savant.
A loyalty she hadn’t gotten to show him yet.
Her friendship with him only strengthened during her painful recovery, because he’d visit her often. He didn’t have to or need to, but he wanted to. That’s true friendship. Not the fakeness shown by J Mont. Devlin’s friendship with her wasn’t out of fear or necessity or manipulation to get what he wanted from her. She was sure of it. More sure of it than the sun setting and stench coming from Davy Jones’ locker. What could he possibly gain from using a broken rookie who’d only had a few matches?
It wasn’t just Devlin who she’d see when she closed her eyes. Dave the Barista would also emerge. He’d been the much-too-muscled-for-his-shirt coffee shop owner who’d taken her in when she made her first landfall. He’d introduced her to the strongest variation of mead and ale in the form of coffees, lattes, frappes, and other weird words land dwellers use to call their drinks.
There was also Detective Holmes. The private investigator who she’d hired to find her parents if they were indeed still alive. It was believed her parents perished on the ship that sank in the Bermuda Triangle that fateful night, but no bodies were ever found.
Jetta wanted to see her parent's faces when she shut her eyes but it never happened. That terrifying night happened so long ago, and she was so young at the time, that she’d forgotten what they looked like.
What had initially been rageful thoughts six months ago was now a feeling of steadfast resolve as Jetta stood across from the T Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Plenty of looks shot her way given her pirate dress style complete with pirate hat. Not exactly normal attire in Kansas City, or anywhere.
Plastered across the huge digital marquee was the whole of the Fortunate Ones with the addition of their powerful ally Chirs Page. Jetta’s adorable little pirate fists balled at her sides.
JETTA TALL-TIDE: I’ll avenge you, First Friend!
She was determined to heal the wound from the knife that met Devlin Knight’s back at War Games. On the wall near her, saturated like their segments in each episode, were posters of the Fortunate Ones. She snatched one off the wall that had Amber and Clyde featured more prominently. The Savant of the Seven Seas looked long and hard at it before crumbling it in her hand and discarding it where the Fortunate Ones belong.
In the garbage bin.

The scene opens to the night the Fortunate Ones injured Jetta Tall-Tide. The pirate’s pain filled screams are replayed alongside a split screen of Amber Mansley and Clyde Newton taunting her.
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): AHOY, Latoya Hixx!
A cut scene takes us to Jetta being loaded onto a stretcher that night.
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): Lady Hixx, look what happened to me. We’re kinda the same in a lot of ways, huh? That one scurvy dog tried to tear your ankle off while the Fortunate Ones tried to rip my whole leg off.
Another scene shows our poor little pirate princess crying in horrible pain as she’s loaded into the ambulance that night.
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): It didn’t look good for us, did it Lady Hixx?
A split screen shows the hurt moments Latoya and Jetta comparatively had thanks to no good dirty dogs!
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): But you fought back.
The scene shows Latoya rising above it all by defeating Connor Malloy, ending her losing skid.
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): And so did I.
Some epic underdog on the comeback music plays as a montage kicks into gear. The clips cover a wide range of the past six months:
Jetta on crutches.
Jetta pumps out upper body workouts in a physical rehab center because she couldn’t work out her legs.
Jetta upgrades to one crutch.
Devlin motivates her through tough workouts and recovery exercises.
Jetta reads fan letters of support. Not a lot since she is only a rookie but it hits her in the feels. Aww.
Jetta upgrades to no crutches.
Dave the Barista dangles weirdly worded coffees above her head making her do upward lunging workouts to grab them.
As the zippy underdog triumph song nears its end we see Jetta’s fists and feet firing in a blur of offense against heavy bags and other striking surfaces while in the backdrop pictures of Amber Mansley and Clyde Newton are displayed, as well as some pictures of other Fortunate Ones.
The ending scene of this montage shows Jetta exploding a huge heavy bag with a Bruce Lee style kick so fast and powerful that Devlin’s eyes go wide and jaw drops while Dave the Barista spits out the coffee themed beverage he had taken a sip of. He was not expecting such power and speed from the pint sized hurricane of the seas! The trio celebrate after, group hugging and jumping up and down in a huddle celebration!
JETTA TALL-TIDE (voiceover narration): You’re an inspiration to me, Lady Hixx. An inspiration to little girls who are part of the World’s Greatest Fanbase. No matter how tough things get or how many times an ill wind blows you off course in the ring you come right back and keep fighting. I’ve come a long way in the last six months though, and by the tides of the seven seas, I’ll be flogged if I come up short against you. Not when I need to scuttle Amber and Clyde and sink the big fancy ship the whole Fortunate Ones sail around in. This is about justice. This is about righting a wrong. I heard a song during my recovery phase and I liked it, and it fit me this Monday because I’m Gonna Rock You Like A Hurricane and then HOIST THE COLORS!
The Montage scene ends with Jetta pulling her pirate coat and hat out from an old wooden treasure chest and sliding them on her body while an epic song plays to signify her return!
