The clouds above the Military housing complex rumble with a thick air, as the soft pitter-patter of rainfall can be heard on the paving stones and window panes of the houses that line the empty dark street… From one of the houses an old style telephone can be heard trilling inside an upstairs window and as we slowly peer into that window, we see someone flip over in bed and click on the bedside lamp… Colonel Foster removes her eye cover and lifts the receiver…
Foster: ”Colonel Foster speaking… What? Wait, slow down… Once again… HE'S WHERE?!?”
The next part of the dialogue is inaudible, however whatever was said was important enough to cause Colonel Foster to jump out ofbed, run into the bathroom and within less than twenty minutes be speeding from her driveway towards Mount Cheyenne, in full uniform and even time to spare to make a flask of coffee for the ride…
The trip itself takes about the same amount of time it may have taken that coffee to be made and as she approaches the checkpoint and flashes her identification to the young cadet on the gate, she is met by Sergeant Edward Jacobs who waits patiently by her vehicle as she pulls into her reserved parking spot, cuts off the engine and gets out of the car…

Jacobs: ”Morning Ma'am, he's in the temporal time room…”
Foster: ”How long has he been in there??”
Jacobs: ”About an hour, I'm assuming he can't figure out the system…”
Foster: ”He helped create the system… No, he's waiting for me.”
Jacobs: ”What do you want to do then Ma'am?”
Foster: ”I'm going to go in and speak to him…”
Jacobs: ”Do you think that's wise?”
Foster: ”Why wouldn't it be, Sergeant? He's not a psychiatric patient and he's not a hostage taking terrorist… I think it's pretty obvious what he's trying to do. I'll have a word…”
Jacobs: ”Okay, I haven't told anybody this is going on as I'm aware of who Devlin Knight is, Ma'am. This won't go any further but do let me know if you need any assistance…”
Foster: ”Get me on channel two on the radio…”
Foster takes a walkie-talkie from a stand inside the building she and Jacobs have arrived at, he salutes her as she enters through a side door… It doesn't take Foster long to find a huge, heavy door marked private, with a keypad attached to it…
She keys in the eight digits and leans forward to give a retinal scan, before a green light which is accompanied by a beep kicks in and the door opens. Inside the room at the far end, made from what looks like stone and obsidian, stands a portal or gate of some kind and standing about ten feet in front of it, messing around with a keypad of his own, stands Devlin Knight…

Foster: ”Morning Devlin, you're getting an early start…”
Devlin: ”Morning Colonel, I couldn't sleep…”
Foster: ”Oh?”
Devlin: ”It’s eating away at me…”
Foster: ”The Intercontinental Title loss??”
Devlin: ”I’m still confused at how the hell it happened!”
Foster: ”You know how it happened, Devlin… Mr. Joseph Montuori decided he was going to use some brass knuckle dusters to take you out, but list…-”
Devlin: ”Exactly, so now I've got to go and change things back…”
Foster: ”Devlin, it's impossible for you to…-”
Devlin: ”Please, Colonel… Don't try and stop me, I've already set the coordinates…”
Foster: ”But they keep going off by a day or so either side right?”
Devlin: ”Pretty much, How'd you know? Is this you guys?”
Foster: ”No Devlin, it's just what I've been trying to say… You can't go back to WrestleWars, you can't go back and change things!”
Devlin: ”Why not??”
Foster: ”Because that night, that weekend… It's an Epoch…”
Devlin: ”An Epoch??”
Foster: ”Yes, a fixed point in time…”
Devlin: ”Yeah I know what an Epoch is, those are real?”
Foster moves closer to Devlin who has now stepped away from the machine. She shakes her head and chuckles as she places a hand on Devlin's shoulder.
Foster: ”How long have you been studying this topic, Devlin and you have to ask me that? Of course fixed points in time are real and that night, against J Mont was one of them…”
Devlin: ”And so was almost every big moment in my life. My wedding, funeral…”
Foster: ”Funeral?”
Devlin: ”Long story but clearly that wasn't fixed as it was able to be changed… But every Title win I've had I've never been able to go back and relive…”
Foster: ”Things happen the way they're supposed to happen, okay? Epochs…”
Devlin: ”And the same goes for the match with J Mont, there was literally no way I was coming away with the belt that night, was there…?”
Foster: ”Absolutrly none…”
Devlin: ”Is there any universe where J Mont wins fa…-”
Foster: ”Not a single one…”
Devlin sighs and sits down, Colonel Foster joins him. Devlin waves his hand around the entire room as he laughs awkwardly…
Devlin: ”All this, I've got all this at my disposal and I was going to go back to something that had been and gone, that I could do nothing about because I wanted that Intercontinental Championship to mean something…”
Foster: ”And it does…”
Devlin: ”On the shoulder of that prick?”
Foster: ”And it will… So what next??”
Devlin: ”Well now I make the next time I have any connection with Joseph Montuori another Epoch! Another fixed moment in time but before getting there I've got to take another path, which isn't one I walk alone, it's one I walk with Maxwell Mason Stone and it's a path towards the WGWF Tag-Team Titles! And the first notch in that pendulum comes this week, when Necessary Evil takes on a team consisting of Jenny Myst and Colossus…
Jenny Myst, the former WGWF Television Champion and somebody who's not to be taken lightly… A woman who knows what she wants but not why she wants it or how to get it… A woman who for a while now has been playing this whole edging flirty thing with clowns and doesn't think that's weird at all.
I'll be honest I've no idea why Jenny took this match against Max and myself and moreover why she took a match partnering with the brute, Colossus, but I can only assume it's because it is what the Universe wanted, it was the next step in Devlin Knight’s evolutionary process. And maybe Jenny just wanted to be the next person to try to stamp Devlin Knight's light out! Who knows….”
Devlin stands as Colonel Foster watched him move back towards the controls and begin to fiddle with them…
Devlin: ”And then you've got her Tag-Team partner, Colossus?! I've seen very rare clips of him and some photos but that's about it! So I genuinely don't know what to expect with him except maybe he'll want me on toast to have for his lunch… Now why he teamed with Jenny Myst isn't as much as a mystery to be honest…
The Van Meter Monster is what he likes to call himself and it's what they'll call him up there… And it has a bit of a clang to it, don't it? It's got a little wind cry when you say it… The Van Meter Monster… But that's only to idiots who are sharing a brain cell in them there “ippis”! To me? It's just Colossus, it's just opponent number 58 and I'm ready for anything he sends my way!
Necessary Evil has a task at hand and that task entails us going through so many in the Tag ranks and narrowing down our scope at those belts… They're currently stuck on the mantles of The Cassette Collective, but the entire point of them is to defend them, something that will happen matter of factly when we get hold of them! But again as I say we will take on anybody and everybody that Jack Daniels puts in front of us beginning with Jenny Myst and Colossus.”
Devlin finishes pressing a few buttons and suddenly the gate comes to life and what looks like a mirror or a screen flashes to life and we see Jenny Myst in small sequences of prior matches including the one she lost the Television title in, against Bobby Ray Willis… And then Colossus, which doesn't really show much at all…
Devlin: ”Now if I can't go back to my own points in time because they're fixed for the most part…. I'll go and visit points relating to my opposition network! I'll visit Jenny Myst just as she's losing the WGWF Television Title! I'll visit Colossus just as he's making himself known to the people in suits and may just introduce myself early…”
Foster: ”Devlin… No, you can't do that…”
But Devlin isn't listening, as he walks straight towards the gate and the scene dissolves into darkness…
