[[As scene fades in, we find ourselves in an empty looking warehouse… The only things inside said warehouse appear to be glass ornaments that resemble creatures not really seen on Earth before…]]
[[Ripples of light appear to emanate from the back wall, getting bigger and bigger, tearing like fabric at the seams. A shadow appears within the tear and as it gets closer we see that it is none other than Devlin Knight.]]
[[He steps through the portal and looks around slowly, noticing the glass ornaments and other artefacts. He speaks to someone who’s out of visual as he runs his finger over a glass dragon…]]

Devlin: ”So, where are we now? Considering I’ve woken up inside Resnick I assume this is April again…?”
Bunny: ”Yes, it is… And you’re here on the Island of Aldebaran B…”
[[We spot the Bunny walking between the reflections of the glass ornaments, looking at Devlin as he does.]]
Devlin: ”And the Dragons??”
Bunny: ”They’re quite the sight here actually, Dev…”
Devlin: ”Wait, what? You’re telling me Dragons exist here?”
Bunny: ”No, I’m telling you that Dragons exist. Whether it be here, Earth, Altair, you name it…”
Devlin: ”Okay well that’s insane… So, what do I do here now?”
Bunny: ”There’s a door about fifteen feet in front of you… There’s a dirt road outside which, if you take it to the east, will take you three miles to a village…”
[[Devlin nods, curiously looks at the door and opens it. He looks back towards a reflection with an incredulous look on his face…]]
Devlin: ”And, how am I supposed to find this dirt road?”
[[Devlin moves out of the way of the door to show what the road outside looks like…]]

VO: He did it, the boy’s only gone and done it upon his return and first match back! But… Did Devlin Knight really win in the Last Chance Battle Royale? Did he really come out on top? Sure you had Candice Page come out and tell Devlin and the other remaining man in the match, Spencer Adams, that they were both the winners and would both enter The Cannabis Cup Elite 8 Tournament, but it just feels that Devlin's place has come on a technicality.
You could argue of course that the technicality is Spencer Adams’, we’ll never know I guess because there was never an ending to the Last Chance Battle Royale… Maybe one day we’ll find out whether or not the Elite 8 Tournament entry was deserved for Devlin Knight, but until then we have to remain focused on the task at hand, the second round of The Cannabis Cup tournament, a match against Dubois, a match that Devlin Knight has to win… Has - To - Win.”
[[The village up ahead was anything but the usual. It was majestic, wonderful, unbelievably peaceful.]]

[[As Devlin looks down the slope at all the houses, over the rooftops to the mountains behind and whistles low…]]
Devlin: ”Man, it’s just like something out of a book written by Tolkien or Pratchett…”
[[Suddenly there’s a roar and the sky becomes darker as Devlin ducks behind a tree, watching over the mountains as a huge, real life dragon, flies over them…]]
Devlin: ”Or George RR Martin…”
[[Devlin waits a while until the Dragon is out of sight, before turning back towards the village and making his way towards the houses and shops. He comes across what appears to be a tavern and reading the name across the placard, “The Dark Dubois”, he slowly steps inside…]]
[[As he looks around, Devlin notices the tavern is filled with both humanoids and mythological creatures alike… He spots the Bunny in the reflection from a tankard, sitting on the nearest table and heads in the direction he’s pointing, the bar… Devlin stops at one of the empty bar stools and waits patiently as a Fae is drying up a goblet. She looks up at him and gives a faint smile.]]

Fae: ”You’re from Earth, aren’t you?”
Devlin: ”I am.”
Fae: ”Did you want a drink?”
Devlin: ”No thanks, just tell The Chef, that Devlin Knight is here to see him…”

VO: ”It’s crazy you know? To think I’ve been doing this gig for well over a quarter of a century and still these cats talk about me as if I’m some green kid from the wrong side of the tracks… The only green in me is the shit I smoke, probably way too much, but hey you know how the story goes right? And herein lies the issue that companies and CEO’s alike have had the last five to six months, the disappearance of Fred Debonair and the emergence of Devlin Knight! IIW shut its doors when Fred Debonair got sucked into Resnick Psychiatric Hospital, it just never recovered.
And that’s the thing isn’t it? You’ve got people labelling Devlin Knight as some kind of “alter ego” of Fred Debonair’s or possibly some demon that’s inhabited Fred Debonair, hell some people even make these outlandish claims that I’m trying to hide who I once was when the situation has been clear all along and so now I’ve got to go and reopen old wounds because some people just don’t have the first clue about what Devlin Knight has had to deal with to get to this point now but one thing that I must make perfectly clear right now, is that it makes no difference if I was shutting down your big hero or saving your company each and every one of you knows full well who I am and you all cheer my name whether you want to or not…”
[[He knocks on the door and enters a huge room that is lavishly decorated with bookshelf among bookshelf. Sitting behind an oak desk sits a “man” dressed in a navy three piece suit, his bald head glimmering against the lights in the room but what really catches Devlin’s eye, is the horns ontop or his head…]]
[[In his hand sits a letter opener but the neferious demeanour is misleading as the moment he spots Devlin he smiles broadly…]]

Chef: ”Devlin my boy!”
Devlin: ”You’re the Chef??”
Chef: ”Well of course old chap!”
Devlin: ”Do we… Do we know each other??”
Chef: ”Not yet, but we will… Let’s just say that right now, this moment in time is my past and your future…”
[[The comment doesn’t surprise Devlin, even slightly. He’s been in positions like this before, on many occasion… What does throw him, is what’s said next.]]
Devlin: ”You know, I’ve never understood how it is, every planet I’ve visited since doing these jumps, all have admissible amounts of H2O, CO2 and O2…”
Chef: ”You’re joking right?”
Devlin: ”Joking? No why would I be?”
Chef: ”You believe us to be on a different planet, light years from Earth?”
Devlin: ”Well yeah, I mean if…-“
Chef: ”Devlin, we’re on the same plane as the one you left to come here, the same “world”…”
[[And there it was… It rocked Devlin like a hurricane through a tin bike shed and knocked him for six, those five words “we’re on the same plane”… It makes sense of course and in Devlin’s mind it always had done, but hearing it from this half man, half whatever else he was in the back room of a tavern on Aldebaran B… Well clearly the vibe was different. His stunned silence was matched only by the look on his face at the map situated on the wall behind The Chef.
It was a map of Earth and all its continents, but it spread out much further than that… It continued beyond the Arctic ice wall to places that Devlin had been to before and many others he hadn’t… Places like the Lands of Eris, the Lands of Mars, Neptune, Uranus and so on… Pleiades, Fraternity and the Saint Germain Islands which reside in the Lands of Custodians…]]

Chef: ”There it is, in all its glory… And now, what you came here for.”
[[The sound of The Chef’s voice shook Devlin from his trance and made him jump slightly. As he turned, Chef is standing there holding out a crystalline key. He holds it out to Devlin.]]
Devlin: ”This is for me?”
Chef: ”Ahh, I was told you may have difficulty remembering our conversation. I assure you, this will all be explained by your long eared, buck toothed mask wearing friend… But yes, this is for you and all will become clear when you make landfall on the free islands of Shangri-La…”
[[Devlin slowly takes the key from The Chef but as he does, from the bookshelf behind him, a portal slowly begins to appear…]]
[[Devlin looks between The Chef and the portal…]]

Chef: ”Well that ain’t my ride, Dorothy…”
[[Devlin smirks, holds up the key in a gesture of thanks and runs head long into the portal almost crashing into his shower door, back in Resnick…]]
Time and again I tell myself
I'll stay clean tonight
But the little green wheels are following me
Oh no, not again
I'm stuck with a valuable friend
"I'm happy, hope you're happy too
One flash of light but no smoking pistol…
[[If you believe in the concept of time then hours have passed since Devlin’s walk through the portal from Aldebaran B and now he’s currently sat on his bed, watching the small television set that the hospital has set up in the corner of each room… He keeps his focus on the set, but speaks to us.]]

Devlin: ”When I first stepped into the world of Wrestling I was this skinny sixteen year old who was trying to get away from this life of crime, within the New York Mafia that I was adopted into and I managed to pull myself out of that hole and build a life for myself under the Debonair banner… For years I bled, I sweat and I toiled, both metaphorically and literally, to grow one of the world's biggest global entities that still stands tall today… And then I figured out the world didn’t work the way I thought it did and everything and I do mean everything, changed…
I learned that whatever you thought you knew, you didn’t until you did. Wherever you went, you’d already been and wherever you’re going to go, you’re coming from… I have learned that there is so much more out there, than I ever could have dreamed possible and I’ve seen so much of it that’s not even a fraction of the visible spectrum… And the same could be said for myself in the world of Professional Wrestling too. I’ve done so much within this business, so much FOR this business and yet it’s still not enough, I still have so much more to give…
I have held more than 32 titles, 29 times between them in my career but I’m nowhere near done yet… I’ve Wrestled the length and breadth of the lands of Earth from the East Coast to West of the United States, Mexico and Canada, to London and Manchester, England all the way to China, Japan, Sydney and Victoria, Australia. And yet I’ve still got a very long way to go and one thing I’ve yet to do, is take part in the Cannabis Cup…”
[[Devlin pushes back on the bed so he’s now leaning against the wall it’s propped up on and his feet are on the bed, we notice he’s watching a WGWF Monday Night Brawl highlights show…]]
Devlin: ”You’re always learning in everything you do… You’re always being educated. You never lose, no matter what. Take me for example, I either win when I step into a Wrestling ring or I learn! And this for me will be a bit of both, I will walk into this match with the expectation of winning the match, winning the tournament but can I guarantee that? No more than a fisherman can go out to sea and guarantee a big ol’ haul, no more than a mountain climber can guarantee he’ll hit the peak of Everest but they’ll give it a go!
And then we’ve got my opponent in the second round of the Cannabis Cup tournament, Mr. Hotlanta himself, Iconic Dubois! The man can dance so fly he’ll Electric Boogaloo you into a Flying Bulldog or Billy Bounce you into a Boston Crab… I mean I thought I had it tough growing up but seeing what Del Dubois’ mother had to go through and seeing him pull himself from that struggle? Makes me respect this man even more. It gives me a clear understanding of what I’m walking into, upon my return to WGWF.
The Last Chance Battle Royale was ironically my second chance at doing this all again and making things right this time… And I learned that when you start speaking the truth and redirecting your energies, you become a target, even by those you considered associates, hell even friends but that’s not something I’m letting bother me, the way I see it if you’re a friend, you’re a friend and if you have a problem we can settle it… But my focus right now is The Cannabis Cup…”
Devlin: ”My mind is solid and secure when it comes to what I’ve got to do, the clarity within me is illuminated with the brightness of the Sun and I know exactly what’s coming! Del Duboïs, first match in WGWF against my old sparring and tag partner, Clyde Newton and Atara Raven and it didn’t quite work out for ol’ Del did it? When Newton took the win… What does that stand for by the way, Del? Derrick? Delilah? Deleted…? Yeah, that sounds about right.
You then had a second stab at Clyde and low and behold you did it, Del! You managed to defeat him on your second attempt and I bet you were so excited right? I bet you were just chock full of the butterflies, weren’t ya?!? I remember my first win in the WGWF, I mean know my first win anywhere and everywhere I’ve been! I’ve managed to rack up those miles and you’re getting there… And I believe one day you can do as I have done, hell it may even be Monday night on Brawl!
You see as I’ve said in no way, shape or form am I guaranteed a win against you. Never am I guaranteed a win against anybody and I never take that jump, at least not anymore… I used to walk into every match like it was my God given right to put away the guy, or guys, across the way from me… But you realise that even at your own house party there’s always a chance you’ll get out-drunk right? No, I don’t think you do understand that because had you, your arrogance surrounding the Full Metal Mayhem match on the show formally known as Melee proves that.”
Devln: ”I guess what I’m trying to say Del, is that I’ve either stepped back into the right place, at the wrong time or, I’ve stepped into the wrong place at the right time… But either way I’m back and it’s gonna take everything you’ve got to stop me now… In fact it’s going to take more than what you’ve got! I’ve seen you flitter back and forth in your mindscape and I’ve already dealt with that in my opposition, hell I’ve dealt with that when I looked in the mirror… I’ve seen the darkness, I’ve seen the light and I’ve seen the effervescent fluorescent inbetween.
I’ve seen snakes just like you have, both literal, figurative and in the mind's eye… I’ve been to that dark place and had my dark side come through and try to “handle the dirty work” but you know that never works out. I’ve found that you can only rely on your one true self for guidance and victory and when all’s said and done, the dust has settled and smoke’s cleared I will be the man with his arm raised! You can be Del “Iconic” Dubois or you can be “Dark Dubois” it matters not… Because I’m here to do one thing I’ve never had the chance to do…”

[[Devlin shuffles off the bed, stands and walks toward a desk. Leaning over the desk he grabs a latch on the wall, pushing open a letterbox sized window. He opens a drawer in the desk and brings out a small box, which he in turn opens as we see a trio of pre-rolled spliffs of the finest Trainwreck. Devlin takes a lighter from the same box, places the spliff between his teeth and lights up… The rush of euphoria hits Devlin like a freight train as the sweet lemon and spicy pine scent fills the room for a split second and then slowly makes its way out of the window. Devlin gets a broad grin on his face as he takes another draw on the joint.]]

[[With that, Devlin takes one more draw and begins to fade along with the image we see, becoming crystalline… Before fading to black…]]
