Prologue
Valhalla was a place of legend. It can be described as a majestic hall that Odin presides over. It is filled with warriors who died in combat fighting in the name of Odin. While the other are chosen by Freya. It is the greatest honor to enter this scared place and only a select few will be fortunate enough. They all await the moment when they return to battle with Odin in a moment called Ragnarök. The souls in Valhalla grow restless wanting to be released. When that happens, the world will cease to exist because the end game of Ragnarök is complete and utter destruction. There will be no survivors and Odin will once again rule the entire world. Odin was a powerful God that demanded respect. Going against that would have repercussions that most men could not survive. If Odin spoke to him, it was important and should never be ignored.
Present Day
The great warrior himself Ragnarök had yet to experience anything close to Valhalla. He was named after the great battle itself so being a legend was in his blood. This was something he thought about often. The culture, the way of life was much simpler back then. The idea of war to get what you want was appealing to him and yet his only desire was to speak with Odin somehow. So as another evening came to a close Ragnarök prepared himself for a great night sleep. He had no idea that tonight would take him on a wild journey that would widen his mind in ways he never thought imaginable. As he drifted into a deep sleep an image appeared before him.
The image continued for a while as he walked slowly down the path toward the small opening. There was no fighting, no warriors just silence. As Ragnarök approached the opening a voice spoke from the heavens.
Odin: Ragnarök!
The descendent of legendary Vikings stopped. He looked around and felt fear for only a moment as the voice spoke again.
Odin: Ragnarök! it is I Odin the God of your people.
He composed himself and responded to Odin.
Ragnarök: Hello, sir. Pleasure to hear from you.
Odin: Welcome to Valhalla. I know this is a place you've thought about for the longest time. I could have summoned you many times before, but the moment wasn't right. I needed you to fight the battles alone in order to make sure you were capable of doing the task of a God.
He heard Odin words, and he was honored. Ragnarök was doing everything for his heritage and knowing that Odin was noticing the effort was amazing. However, the great warrior knew Odin was just getting started and seeing where this would go was exciting.
Ragnarök: Thank you for the vote of confidence. It is truly an honor to speak with you on the holy ground of Valhalla. What do you wish to speak to me about Odin?
There was silence for a moment as lightning formed in the distance. The wind started to blow as Odin came down from the heavens and showed himself to the legendary warrior.
Odin: Ragnarök, your journey is starting to unfold before your eyes. I have watched over you, protected you for one purpose. You are the chosen one. I cannot reveal to you what trails and tribulation await you. Just know that with the power of Odin and all the legendary Vikings that have sacrificed themselves you will not fail.
Ragnarök: Good to know.
Odin: I know you have struggled your entire life to be accepted. I know you have achieved more than anyone wants to admit. You are a strong young warrior with charisma and a true ability to make those who are weaker than you pay. I'm the reason you have won the championships in the company known as WGWF. If it wasn't part of the journey, you wouldn't have won plain and simple.
Ragnarök: Oh really? Why is that?
Odin: Yes! You know who I am. Nothing is done without my approval. Your ancestors have come before me asking me to show you the way, but I reassured them you are capable enough to finish the story.
Ragnarök: Is defeat part of the story of growth?
Odin: Of course! You see I can make any man, woman or child be a champion if I desire. However, I will not fight the battles for them because the lesson to be learned is much greater than I could explain. It is because of your struggles that you've learned how to bounce back. The journey to Valhalla is never an easy one my young warrior. You didn't remain champion because you are still being groomed for bigger things.
He took a moment to think about what was being said.
Ragnarök: Hmm, interesting concept you have Odin. you might be grooming me for bigger things, but it doesn't take away from the pain I felt letting my culture and you down. I never want to stop being the best. I do realize that no matter what battle I have inside the ring I'm a champion inside. My heart is being transformed and my confidence builds each day. I'm learning something new about myself and it will be utilized to the fullest.
Odin: Ragnarök, I love hearing that from such a young warrior. I will now reveal the next piece of the journey. You see as you know I know everything. So, I realize the challenge that is before you next week. It isn't someone you should take lightly but just know that if you believe in yourself, you already have the upper hand.
Ragnarök: What do you mean?
Odin: The man known as Edward Grado is someone who is nothing but a selfish pig. He wants everything done a certain way. If not, he will throw a tantrum like the little schoolgirl he is. Going into the battle with confidence let's him know he can't control things. He has no power over you. We both understand he is battle tested but you are the unknown force he wasn't expecting. Most individuals cannot prepare for Ragnarök.
Ragnarök: Odin, I'm one of a kind. No man shall prosper against me. The man known as Edward Grado is nothing but garbage to me. He will be stomped and destroyed under the weight of my body. My foot pressing into his throat crushing it. The struggle he shows will make Valhalla proud. It will make you proud as he looks into my eyes for help, and I turn my back on him. He likes to talk and try to drag my name into the mud. If I cared about my reputation, it might worry me but attacking who I am as a person and athlete does nothing to deter me from the match. It drives me even more to prove how big of an asshole I can be. When I strike him in the chest, he will know that Odin is with me. His life means nothing to me. His family deserves the worse nightmare you can think of. They deserve pain and suffering at the hands of Ragnarök.
Odin acknowledged the words. He placed his hand on Ragnarök shoulder.
Odin: Your time here is nearly up. You don't need to understand everything just yet, but I do want to ask you one thing before I dismiss you. What do you think Edward Gardo will achieve in this lifetime compared to you? Would you say he is a jealous man?
Ragnarök just smiled at Odin. The young warrior placed his hand on Odins shoulder in return. He leaned forward looking him in the eyes.
Ragnarök: Odin, Mr. Grado is old news. He wants to recapture whatever it is he used to be, but father time has not been nice to him. If he were here, I'm sure the excuses would start. Edward would claim that he has achieved more than me already, but you see I have more years ahead of me then he does. He took a hiatus because everyone was better than him. He couldn't stand that, and his small ego took a hit. It bruised his ego so bad he went into hiding. He thought laying low would do him good. Truth is Mr. Grado, I don't give a damn about your career. I definitely don't give a damn about your resurrected career and trying to make your name mean something again. Odin, he can say and do anything he wants to me I'm indestructible. I will haunt him the rest of his life. No one disrespects the God of War and gets off without punishment. In all his years of competition I can promise you he has never dealt with the depths of hell. Edward is dealing with the Devil in the flesh. The power of Odin, legendary warriors and Valhalla will be enough to subdue anything I desire. I used to be limited by my weaknesses but now I fear nothing. I have no boundaries and soon everyone will have to accept this fate.
Odin: Now those are powerful words my young warrior. I will leave you with this advice. The journey ends when you decide. If you wish to live forever and conquer the world, then i shall allow it. Just know that as this journey unfolds, I will give you more freedom. There are rewards beyond your wildest dreams if you succeed. If you fail the punishments will be harsh but you'll survive. I leave you now Ragnarök. Good luck to you and prepare to hear from me whenever I find it necessary.
Odin vanished before his eyes as the entrance to Valhalla gets further away and disappears completely. His alarm goes off and he awakens. Sitting straight up in a cold sweat. Trying to comprehend everything that has occurred. It was a dream to most but to him it felt real. He felt connected to his destiny even more now. Getting out of bed he stood near a window looking into the heavens with a smile.
Ragnarök: Immortality exist. I shall be like Odin and be remembered forever. It doesn't matter who I must face to prove that. I will never be defined by one match. Instead, Ragnarök will be etched into the minds of everyone I face. They will tremble with fear. They will respect my game and they will never know when I'll strike. Edward Grado is nothing but a name to me. You are about to engage in a war with a fierce warrior and expect to survive? Monday Night Brawl will be your final curtain call. You will make an appearance and fade away forever when I humiliate you. Make you realize that this is about the new generation of superstars. WGWF is a place where everyone is welcomed but I determine if your worthy of staying. Good luck to you Mr. Grado because you are about to face the worse nightmare of your God damn life.
He looked away and went to the bathroom. Freshens up and gets dressed. Makes a quick breakfast and prepares for a drive along a scenic route that will keep his mind open and ready for chaos. Monday Night Brawl in Buffalo, New York was going to be epic. The entire country will see the future of the company compete at the highest level.
