It was just a day after the successful War Games PPV for the WGWF not so much for me because I didn’t compete in the match but maybe if Peter had put his trust in me he wouldn’t be walking around right now with his head down and title-less but let’s not take to many shots at their failed effort because a man that I’ve grown to trust and even admire a little was a casualty on the losing side of the war and yes I’m talking about my ride or die partner Mac Bane. He went into War Games looking to send a message by defeating a team full of legends from the XWF and all-around big-time stars in the wrestling business but to no fault of his own he wasn’t able to make that reality happen.
People have varied reasons for why that was but for me it was simple, Mac didn’t have his right-hand man by his side when he needed me most inside War Games but I’m not going to rub it in his face because I know the big man takes losing hard just as much as I do because we have hella pride of wanting to be the best and beat the best. So when we fall short it eats away at us and we think over and over again what we could’ve done differently. I know Mac so well that I wasn’t surprised to learn from Kim Pain that he had turned off his phone and went to his Oblivion Garage in Las Vegas to work on some cars as he tried to get his mind off defeat.
Now I could’ve just let Mac wallow in self-pity but seeing how I was determined to make our partnership work as tag team partners in the WGWF I was also motivated to just be a good friend, so I did what any friend what do I got a tow truck from my friends at Detroit Towing company so that I can put my all black Harley Davidson on it and drive it to Vegas for Mac to work on and talk it out with my new brother-in-arms, but before I could zoom down there I had to make a stop at the store for not only my Miller Lite beer but I’ve learned being around Mac that he enjoys a Guinness Dark and yeah it’s not something I would ever buy but a good partner makes compromises, it's the little things like that matter when building a great bond.
After several hours on the road, I finally pulled up to the massive Oblivion Garage, it was everything Kim had to describe to me. The structure was larger than any garage I've seen in Detroit besides Ford Motor garage but Macs damn near rivaled it, I tried to look around from him on my own but eventually, I had to ask a mechanic that worked there if he saw Mac around today and sure enough he pointed me to the back and as I drove the tow truck tot he back of the garage and as I turn the corner I see Mac under the hood of an old school chevy, hard at work keeping his mind off of War Games. I peep the horn as I pull closer and it gets his attention as he looks over his shoulder with a curious look and then a smirk as he realizes it's me. He comes from under the hood at the same time I park the tow truck and jump out of the truck, we greet each other with a handshake as we meet in the middle.
Mac Bane: Well look who decided to come down from the north, surprised to see you here.
Bam Miller: Hey man, Kim told me you were down here messing around under the hood and thought I might as well let you look at my baby up there and make sure everything is running smoothly. You know give my partner some business then some random that would probably try to rip me off.
Mac nods his head in agreement and then walks over to the tow truck and looks up at the Harley Davidson.
Mac Bane: Yeah she's a thing of beauty Bam, you got good taste and good judgment for bringing her to me, I'll make sure to handle it with care. Go ahead and let her down so I can take a look at her.
I nod my head at Mac and get back in the truck to lower the ramp, once it's down properly I hop on the back to get on my Harley and ride her down the ramp and park her in front of Mac. He takes my keys and brings his tool kit over to look at it while I head back to the truck to get myself a Miller Lite and Mac a Guinness Dark, I throw an extra Miller Lite in my back pocket so I don't have to come back to the truck. As I head back over to Mac and the Harley, I can see that he's already figured out nothing is wrong with my Harley as he looks at me with a smirk as I hand him his Guinness.
Mac Bane: Bam that Harley is up to date on everything and now that I think about it im sure you do your own work on her, if you just wanted to hang with your partner that's all you had to say Bam.
I smirk as I take a sip of my beer.
Bam Miller: Alright you got me, I figured you just needed someone to talk to after that loss.
Mac nods his head as he chugs his beer down and then looks at me with a serious look.
Mac Bane: Yeah that shit stung me, Im not going to lie Bam I thought we really had that one but I guess it's like they say you can't win them all, no matter how much you really want it.
Before I could get ready to respond to Mac I get a call from Charles , letting me know that I needed to get back to Detroit for training because Mac and I had been booked in our very first tag team match and that it was a big one for us because it was against the the Tag Team Champions The Show Stealerz and to put even more pressure on our shoulders the Tag Team Titles would be on the line. I couldn't help but smirk as I looked over at Mac and he of course looked at me with a curious look on his face.
Mac Bane: You going to keep smiling like a schoolgirl or are you going to tell me what's got you smiling from ear to ear?
Bam Miller: Mac we are about to find out just how much Ultra Violence it takes to get Championship gold around our waist because that was my trainer Charles and it was just made official, it's us vs The Show Stealerz for the Tag Team Titles Mac!
Mac's face lights up with excitement as he slaps his hand against his pants and lets out a loud hell yeah.
Mac Bane: That's huge Bam, shit we've got to start game planning. Austin and Todrick aren't just a happily married couple they have been a phenomenal tag team that's carried the tag team division since the relaunch of the WGWF and have built themselves up as a dominant force, this won't be a walk in the park.
I nod my head in agreement with Mac.
Bam Miller: Yeah they've been dominant alright, their track record speaks for itself. There aint much you can take apart from them and I've seen this duo up close more than I can count. I mean hell I first saw them in action together in Fight and that's been almost two years now, they've only gotten better since then, and obviously, with them being two-time WGWF Tag Team Champions, that statement holds true.
I pause for a moment as I take out a cigarette and light one up but before I can take a hit, Mac asks for one and I hand him one over and lights it up for him, and then begin to smoke.
Bam Miller: But as much as dominance and success is on their track record Mac they also have started to show cracks in their armor. What made them such a great tag team was the love and trust they had for each other, as long as they had that, nobody could dethrone them but ever since Cholo started getting friendly with Todrick that trust has started to fade.
I take a puff, along with Mac as he nods his head and listens to what Im saying.
Bam Miller: Let's just look at the facts Mac, The more friendly Cholo and Todrick have become the more suspicious and Obsessed Austin has become over Cholo and it's affected their ability as a cohesive unit already. It was only a few weeks ago that miscommunication between the two cost them the tag team titles and they were just lucky to win them back at War Games Mac, the once dominated Tag Team Champions are no long unbeatable the blueprint is out there for us to take advantage and for the first time The Ramseys are the ones that lack trust in their tag team.
I take another hit from my cigarette.
Bam Miller: Austin doesn't trust his wife and it shows each time we see them on screen, I mean just look how he acted when she got them flowers from Cholo or whoever sent them. He was pissed off and looking into his eyes you can tell he actually believes Todrick would step out on him and Todrick notices that, and knowing Todrick I know it hurts to know that Austin doesn't trust her to stay loyal. It is almost the ultimate slap in the face you can give your partner because wants the trust fades and the loyalty starts to be in question, the foundation of a great team has crumbled and all that's left is for us to knock it over.
I take one last puff from my cigarette as I look at Mac with a serious look on my face.
Bam Miller: I know it might be cocky to say, especially since this will be our first match as a unit but I feel like we are on a better page than those two are right now. I've gone to war against you, I've seen a side of you that many can't say they have and you've seen a side of me that not many get to see. We've made each other bleed and pushed each other to our limits, we know each other well enough and these last few weeks we've only grown stronger as a unit with small talk like this. I respect Austin and Todrick but the fairy tale run is over, the luck they've been riding on lately is going to run out when they go up against a lethal cohesive unit like us. We are motivated to capture our first piece of Gold in the WGFWF we both have something to prove to their world that we are as good as we say we are and winning the tag team titles in our first match would silence all doubters!
Mac nods his head in agreement and then gives me a wink.
Mac Bane: I like the way you think partner and I'll drink to that.
I nod to him and hand him the miller lite out of my back pocket, we click our bottles and chug our beers down and then smash them on the ground as the scene fades out.
People have varied reasons for why that was but for me it was simple, Mac didn’t have his right-hand man by his side when he needed me most inside War Games but I’m not going to rub it in his face because I know the big man takes losing hard just as much as I do because we have hella pride of wanting to be the best and beat the best.
