Hands Will Be Laid, And Debts Will Be Paid
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Austin, stop squirming and sit still.“
Austin Ramsey squirms in his seat next to Todrick and paws at the purple mantle attached to a chain around his neck. Todrick gently takes his hand away from it and holds it in hers. Todrick is dressed in a beautiful golden gown that puts the one Belle wore in Beauty and the Beast to shame. She is mad up to the nine, and her hair is laid with finger waves. Her makeup is flawless, and her nails are painted purple with gold flakes. She felt like a Queen.
She looked over at her husband, who was wearing a long-tailed purple tuxedo with gold trim that matched her dress. They were seated on chairs that were fashioned to look like thrones. Austin had hired assistants to help them today, and the assistants made everything perfect. They took their jobs seriously and fussed over every little detail and placement of everything. Todrick had hired a camera crew who were constantly filming everything.
One day, they would sit down and show their twins this video and all the outtakes in case they wanted to follow in their footsteps. Crowns are placed on their heads, and a coronation scepter is handed to each of them. Austin stops fussing so that he won’t get fussed at. He looks over at his wife and is awestruck at how regal she looked. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. She felt him staring and turned to look at him. She could see how he was looking at her, and she blushed.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “I love you too, Baby.”
A sense of calm rushed over the couple. Nothing else needed to be said. Their love was so strong that they communicated with each other non-verbally just as well as they did verbally. One of the cameras was set up so that the royal couple was looking down as they spoke. They get the countdown and the infamous red light on the camera shined brightly.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Hey Rockstars! It feels so good to be at the top. A place that the Show Stealerz has been at since the WGWF reopened its doors at the Velvet Rabbit in Las Vegas. Your resident King and Queen of the Tag Team Division have put in the blood, sweat, and tears that were required to ensure that the others did not overshadow our division. A feat that we are most proud of and will continue to be proud of every day of our lives.”
Austin Ramsey: “Many thought that the tag team division being headlined by yours truly would be a joke. To them, I say, Fuck You. Fuck you sideways with an unlubricated monster dick. If I needed validation from the popular kids, I’d go back to high school and campaign for pictures in the yearbook. Outside of the ring, that’s all Twitter is these days is a popularity contest. It isn’t about the work that was consistently put out all year. I see your lists of best of the year, dream matches, who you love to work with and wish to work with, and while there are some that are worthy of being there, some are there because you made nice with the popular kids or in some cases the mean girls in this sport.
Keep your lists; I’ll take matches and championships over that. Do you think we got to this point in life being liked? We are used to hatred and being overlooked simply because of who we are. At some point, that shit loses its effect. I have the other half of my heartbeat beside me, and that’s all I need to motivate me.”
Austin pulls their interlocked hands up, leans over, and gently kisses Todrick’s hand. She puts the scepter in her lap, leans over, and gently strokes his face.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: ”My King gets very passionate about his Queen; however, that does not diminish the message. In truth, I think he is more upset about my name than his. I held on to the Manhattan Championship for several months in FIGHT! NYC and wasn’t mentioned last year. I fought some of the best of the best and held my own. I was the first to cleanly pin the iconic Chris Page in the ring there. I had an outstanding match at the Black Excellence PPV event, where I went the distance with elite athletes. When the company reopened its doors, Austin and I won the OPW Immortal Tag Team Championships, and no one unseated us. True, the company took a hiatus, but the opportunity to dethrone us was there, and no one did.
We have been on fire here in the WGWF, so much so that we were personally recruited to compete in The Entity because a tag team championship match that featured the two of us would instantly bring that division credibility. Now we are about to compete at the West Coast Rumble for the Tag Team titles, and not one honorable mention on any of these lists. Perhaps we haven’t rubbed elbows with the right people or kissed enough babies, but none of that matters at the end of the day. What matters is what the history books remember, and that is everything we put into our matches each time we step into that ring. That is what he meant a moment ago.
My strength and determination significantly impacted this sport, which is why I give 200% every time I perform for all of my Rockstars. All of my charity work will be remembered by those that it impacted. All of my side ventures and promoting everyone else made a difference.”
Austin Ramsey: “To be clear, this isn’t us asking to be on your list or for people to start tweeting about how not everyone can be on the list. The truth is, we don’t give a damn. What is important is walking out of the West Coast Rumble as the WGWF Tag Team Champions. Austin is used to not being liked, but if Toddy IS allegedly liked, all I’m saying is make it make sense.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “None of that matters now, dear; what matters is that we win those championship belts AND give The Syndicate precisely what they deserve after that cowardly ambush at the contract signing during the last WGWF Brawl. That was not one of our better nights, but we plan to rectify that. It is easy to get the jump on someone, but we should’ve been prepared for anything, I suppose. We just thought with their heritage and the pride that they are always talking about that, they would have one shred of honor and faith in the skills and abilities that they are always prattling on about each week.”
Austin Ramsey: “They showed the world that they are little bitches that are scared of a fair fight. There will be no advantage at the Rumble. The bell will ring, and feet and fists will fly. I will look you dead in your face as I punch you right in your beef suckers, and I will punch you in the mouth. I am going to draw first blood and write my name on your face so that when you look at the footage and photos, you will remember that I was the one that did that to you.”
Austin’s green eyes were dark and full of rage as he spat the venom from his lips.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Did you really think that attack would keep us out of this match? I sincerely hope not because that would mean that you have never watched any of our matches, and surely you wouldn’t make a rookie mistake like not viewing tapes of your opponents' matches. Your overconfidence will be your undoing if you enter this match underestimating what we can do.”
Austin Ramsey: “I want you to underestimate me; I want you to believe that I’m not worthy of your time or effort in this match. I want you to believe this will be your career's easiest match. I beg of you to enter the match with those beliefs.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: ”It won’t be the first time we have been underestimated, and it won’t be the last. You ask anyone who has stepped into the ring with either one of us how easy that match was, whether we won or lost the match. You will be facing our combined might, and together we have only lost one match in our career as a team, so you do the math.”
Austin Ramsey: “There is nothing I cannot do without this one by my side; with her, I will never stop coming, never stop fighting, and I will exact what you owe in blood. Of that, you can be certain.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “When we last met, you told me to control my “beast”, but I don’t think I will. Austin will do as he pleases, and I won’t have a word to say. You have no idea what we have planned for you, and trust that we have planted little surprises as we beat that ass all around the arena. It’s a Falls Count Anywhere match, and that means anything goes. You signed a contract releasing all liability from the WGWF, which was your second mistake. While we were scouting the arena, I hope you were scouting the local medical facility.”
Austin Ramsey: “Time to test your life insurance policy and see if it's good enough because I’m from the hood, where we get it good. I can’t wait to light your faces up like it’s Christmas. I plan to disconnect your lights when I knock you the fuck out. I can’t wait to put my hands on you. The only problem I expect to have is the police finding me when I’m done fucking you up. So, you might put your priorities straight prior to you running up and getting done up.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Consider us the bill collectors, and you both have a debt that needs to be paid. We are coming to collect at the West Coast Rumble. The only method of payment that will be accepted is blood. Once that is achieved, then and only then will we grant you our regal mercy and finish you off and claim the biggest prize of all. See you at the Rumble. Muah.”
Todrick blows a kiss at the camera, and the camera filming the segment cuts off. The other camera keeps going.
Producer: “That’s a wrap, people. Let’s clean it up.”
He focuses his attention on Austin and Todrick. Todrick helps Toddy up out of her seat, and he approaches them.
Producer: “That was beautiful; we will edit it and send it to you tonight to post wherever you see fit. You two must really be in synch with one another because you got it all in one take. I hope to work with you again someday.”
Austin and Todrick look at each other and nod. The jewels that Todrick was wearing were on loan from Winston’s Crown Jewels, and the representative collected them before they left the set to change. She truly felt like a queen wearing them. They exit the dressing room in casual wear, and Austin takes her hand as they walk out of the studio.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “How do you think it went, Babe?”
Austin Ramsey: “I may have gotten us a little of the script when I lost my cool, but you always steered us back to the task at hand. You are good at that. The light to my darkness, and you always know how to reach out, take my hand, and pull me back toward the light.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Don’t sweat it, my love. We have had some very emotional moments in the last few weeks, and the contract signing fiasco was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I understand, and if anything, we showed the world Ying and Yang in perfect balance like it is supposed to be. All is well in the universe.”
Austin Ramsey: “You sure I didn’t ruin it with my list talk and whatnot?”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Better it come out in a controlled environment versus when you’ve been partying at the Velvet Rabbit, and someone catches you saying it on film. People will take it all out of context and make it into a thing that it isn’t. It has been on your mind, you mumble about it, and I just haven’t said anything about it.”
Austin Ramsey: “I know I’m a lot to deal with, babe. Thank you for putting up with me and loving me. There is no one I’d rather be on this journey called life with. I feel good about the message we put out into the universe today. Now we just have to win the match and walk out with the gold.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “I promise to do everything in my power to give you that. I love you, Austin Ramsey, and there is nothing I wouldn’t give you because you give me so much.”
Austin kisses her and then opens her car door and helps her inside. After shutting her door, he walks around and gets in. He takes her hand, and the two drive off toward the orange sunset as the scene fades.
