“Luck Has Nothing To Do With It”
The Lyft pulls up to the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, and Austin Ramsey gets out, walks around the car, opens the door on Todrick’s side, and helps her out of the vehicle. The driver places their bags on the sidewalk. Todrick grabs the gym bags as Austin grabs a baggage cart and puts all of the bags on it. They both walk inside the luxurious Wynn hotel. Austin hands her the keys after they check-in, and they head toward the elevators.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Home Sweet Home. It feels good to be back in Vegas.”
Austin Ramsey: “Vegas is where we met, so it will always be special to me. I remember all the flights I used to catch to come here to “woo” you and then try to convince you to move to New York and move in with me.”
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Yeah, that moving in with you was supposed to be temporary until I found a place in Manhattan.”
Austin Ramsey: “Ain’t shit temporary when it comes to us, Baby.”
Todrick giggles as Austin leans over to steal a quick kiss from her. They get off the elevator and head to their room. Todrick opens the door and sees the rose petals on the floor and the candles lighting a path. She looks at Austin and covers her mouth. He motions for her to keep going into the room. There is chilled champagne and two glasses. A large teddy bear holding a box of chocolates and rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart. She is speechless, and Austin closes the room door, walks over to her, stands behind her, and embraces her.
Austin Ramsey: “I know we are in Vegas for business, and we have a Triple Threat Tag Team Showcase to compete in on WGWF Brawl in two days, but I will never forget that you are my number one priority. My family always comes first.”
Austin kisses her neck, unloads the luggage, grabs the luggage cart, and exits the room. Toddy looks at the space in amazement. What wouldn’t her husband do for her? She had no idea that he had something like this planned, and her heart was filled with love. She wanted to have a good time in Vegas but knew that duty called, and she needed to address her Rockstars about her debut match in WGWF. She begins a live on social media, and the view count continues to proliferate. She could always count on her loyal Rockstars to show up for her when needed.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Hey Rockstars! It’s me, one half of The Show Stealerz and WGWF’s resident Scarlet Witch. Where is Austin, a.k.a. Vision, you ask? Well, he is probably off-planning the next phase of our evening. Y’all look at this room.”
Toddy flips the camera around so the viewers can see the suite and all the hard work Austin had put into the surprise. She flips the camera back to selfie mode and has a smile on her face.
Todrick Tabor-Ramsey: “Yes, Gawd, he did that. I love that man with all of my heart and accept him, flaws and all. Baby, Austin is the boss that Shareefa and Ludacris sang about. With him by my side, there is absolutely nothing that I cannot do. Some people say that it was luck that I pulled him, but honey, luck had nothing to do with it. It was more than this booty, but I’d be lying if I said that didn’t play a part in keeping the man after I snatched him from the girls.
Speaking of snatching, you all know that The Show Stealerz will make our debut in WGWF in two days. We will be facing The Commonwealth, comprised of Dickie Watson and Aiden Reynolds and Sabian Wraith, and Dean Harper. I am quite familiar with both Dickie and Aiden, as they held a monopoly when we were on the FIGHT NYC roster. Chile, they were the ones to beat with their stable. But honey, I learned a long time ago that you are only as good as your last match. You could have all the accolades and titles in the world, but all it takes is one bad night to ruin all you have worked so hard for.
I respect my competition, but I do not fear them. I know that from the moment that bell sounds until it sounds again, Austin and I will put everything we have into this match. We will use all our studying, training, blood, sweat, and tears to cement our legacy amongst this roster of giants in the WGWF. There are so many names that will be a draw to our reborn company but after the first episode of Brawl airs, make no mistake, me and Austin will be in that conversation of people to remember. We pride ourselves on stealing the show, honey, and when we do, the girls will be gagging.
Why all the confidence, you ask? It’s because I have earned the right to have this confidence. Again, I won’t sit here and spout off my resume, but the girls know what I bring to the table, and the boys do too. Now you combine that with a man who would do anything to see his spouse succeed, which makes us a lethal combination. We have trained together, and our timing is something you will marvel at. We have studied and then practiced counters and evasive maneuvers for things these teams are famous for. We practiced offense and defense; I have never felt more prepared for a match than I do now.
I take nothing for granted, but I won’t sit here and sing you “Another Sad Love Song” come through Ms. Toni Braxton. The youth will need to look that song up on Apple Music and Spotify. There is nothing sad about the job that we are coming to do in just two days. We will take you for a ride because when we are in the ring, all of you are winners, Baby. To my competition, doubt us, peg us as easy marks, whatever it takes to help you sleep at night, but know this, this is one ride you will not soon forget. So buckle up and check your harnesses twice because safety and caution will be necessary if you hope to have a mustard seed of a chance at winning this match.
We are determined, we are motivated, and we are ready! Let me say it again for the girls and the haters in the back, we are DETERMINED, and we are MOTIVATED, we are READY! Finally, it is happening, and I cannot describe it. You are all wordsmiths, but words will not hurt me. How I feel about this match is so hard to put into words. But let's face it, the time for words is over after this, it’s time for action, and I will answer that call head-on. When, not if, but when we win, luck had nothing to do with it. I know we are in Vegas, but it isn’t luck; it’s the love of my Rockstars and the source of where I draw my greatest strength, my husband and my family.
To my Rockstars, I love you, and I’ll see you in two days at The Velvet Rabbit Las Vegas. Muah, xoxo.”
Toddy stops the live, and the room door opens, and Austin walks in with a grin on his face. Toddy walks towards him, pulls him into the bathroom, and shuts the door behind them.
