Launch – (v.) to burst out or plunge boldly into action.
Relaunch – (v.) to launch again.
Relaunch – (v.) to launch again.
For some... the WGWF Relaunch is a new opportunity.
This is a rare chance for many young superstars to make a name for themselves in what could be considered the most famous Rebel Ring in the business, and an opportunity like this doesn't come along every day. For names like Buster Gloves, Lexi Gold, and Sonya Benson... it's a chance to be a part of something that can skyrocket their budding careers into the stratosphere of fame and fortune.
For others, like Max Daemon, Peter Vaughn, and Fred Debonair, athletes who have laid the ground work to claim the positions of respect they have sought after, it's a chance to continue the hunt for a legacy that they have watched their blood sweat and tears drip from their brows and stain the canvas beneath them under the bright lights of an arena amp-ed to eleven in the hopes that one day, they would claim it as their own.
Accolades they may have...
Notations of virtue...
Trinkets of accreditation...
Limbs laden with Titles...
And trophies galore.
But a true Legacy?
A great historical note perhaps...
But a legacy?
Now THAT'S a thing to die for.
Many warriors have signed their future to the aether with a quick flit of the ink across dotted line...
One... with a chip on his shoulder... Bam 'the Slayer' Miller.

But a legacy?
Now THAT'S a thing to die for.
Many warriors have signed their future to the aether with a quick flit of the ink across dotted line...
One... with a chip on his shoulder... Bam 'the Slayer' Miller.
Self aggrandized as a hunter of 'Big Game' trophies to test his might and prove his worth in the eyes of those who cast their gaze down upon him in pity and irreverence. Shunned by those who would be his equals, most likely due to his slovenly appearance and his boorish penchant for spilling beer upon himself like a village idiot more so than their well earned disdain for his uncouth mannerisms and aggressive stupidity, but disdain there certainly had always been.
It was deserved.
Bam Miller is a callous, cold, prick of a man on his best days, concerned with little more than fist fights and drinking, and maybe... and that's a slim maybe... going to pick up his next bonus check from Chris Page so as to keep his bar tabs cleared up just enough to feed his thirst in the loneliness of his existence. Bitter, blurry nights on the road fade from one to another with little meaning beyond the need to fight... to fight to feel the pain... to fight to feel anything.
Another warrior... returning once more... Jonathan 'the Beast' Cable.
Always the underdog in the eyes of those who do not know the boundless depths of determination hiding within the Beast, strong of will and resolute, honor-bound to push himself further at every turn. Adored by those who's lives he has effected through his charity and revered by those in the locker room for his steadfast defense of the defenseless, scarred by the sacrifices of his flesh and spirit, wounded by the fires and rage of the demon that burns within him to be freed, fighting valiantly to keep the monster deep within sealed away in exile...
Imprisoned for it's terror.
John is a bastion of hope to those who need him... a shield for the weary and distraught to huddle behind and find safety within him. He is the nightmare that haunts the vile minds of villainous abusers and disgusting pathetic bullies. He is honor and grit... and faces the souls of the men who stand before him with valiant courage and exuberant joy for the challenge.
The similarities between these two men are only outweighed by their differences, and for all of their likeness, no two different warriors could there be in the ring at one time... yet here... just days away... these two men will face off in a match for the ages.
Orphans...
Survivors...
Fighters...
Warriors...

A polished steel plated desk stretches across a small sound stage bathed in soft pink and white lights from above. The reflective black granite desktop is sleek and streaked with pink and white ribbons of color and swirls trailing across its gleaming surface. Across the front, lit from behind by pink neon LEDs, hangs a sign emblazoned with the WGWF Logo, and the words 'Run Down' in brushed steel plated letters ringed in pink acrylic and just below it to the right the words, 'with Denise Essex' in flowing script of polished pink steel.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first episode of the 'WGWF Run Down', with me, Denise Essex.” the soft, welcoming tones of the long term WGWF reporter greets us as the scene zooms outwards a bit, and we see her sitting in a luxurious pink and white leather caster chair. Her pastel pink jacket covers a cream colored lace front blouse, and her blonde hair is cut in a smart, short bob.
Denise smiles at the viewers brightly before continuing her show intro cheerfully.
“With the WGWF Relaunch just over the horizon, it is great to be back on the WGWF Network, talking to all of you wonderful fans out there about our favorite wrestlers, angles, titles, and drama that spins out of control within the WGWF-A-VERSE, and today is no exception!” she says, almost giddy with excitement.
“Joining us in the studio today, no stranger to interviews with me, for sure... Former two time WGWF World Heavyweight Champion, Johnathan 'the Beast' Cable!” she exclaims with fervent joy as she stands to greet the monstrous man making his way into the soft lights of the stage from the shadows of the void of the curtain behind him.
John ambles onto the stage with a smile spreading amongst the knotted scars twisted across his face as he hugs Denise tightly in a friendly embrace before they make their way to their seats. John unbuttons his gray suit coat and straightens his slate colored shirt beneath before taking his seat in a black leather caster chair at the other side of the desk from Denise.
“A pleasure as always, John, to have you here with us. It's been quite a while since your last appearance on the WGWF Network, and I for one, am happy to have you back.” she says happily welcoming him to the new show.
“I am sure that wouldn't have anything to do with the copious amounts of money I've poured into the WGWF relaunch, would it?” John asks slyly as he smiles across the desk.
“Well, I would be lying if I said that I don't like having my job back after the years away, and that this is not just an opportunity for the Superstars of the WGWF, but for all of the countless employees behind the curtain working endless hours to make Brawl the premier wrestling program on television... but that isn't the only reason. It surely is A reason... but you know better than anyone that my fans are made up mainly from the masses of Breeders out there, and deep down, I'm a Breeder myself.” she explains, trying to be coy and casual, but fan girling just a little bit as usual in John's presence.
“I would be mistaken if I said that wasn't a large part of my consideration to fund the WGWF's relaunch, a large part of the construction of the Velvet Rabbit Las Vegas, and most of the start up capitol for marketing and merchandise. I have made a career out of making good deals with my money, and I know a good investment when I see it. The WGWF has always been a marquee company, and with name recognition like this, how can you go wrong?” he says plainly.
“Well, it does raise an interesting question that I have heard circled around the WGWF-A-VERSE a bit as of late, and that is with your investment into the WGWF relaunch, how do the fans and the talent know that things aren't going to be biased in your favor? I mean... Chris Page has been well known to make some questionable business decisions, and definitely has interfered in a fair number matches to make sure the outcomes work to his advantage in the past. What's the real deal here behind the curtain between you and Page and the WGWF Main Office?” Denise asks pointedly, making sure to nail the hard questions as she always does.
“Well, for starters... you and your fans out there have been watching my career for years, Right?” John asks softly.
“Well, yes.” Denise answers cautiously, not sure where this answer is heading yet.
“In the years you all have been watching me do what I do, have you ever seen me phone in a match, or pay for a win, or cheat to get over on anyone... like... ever?” John asks flatly.
“Well... no, actually. I haven't.” she answers sheepishly.
“I HAVE gone to any length to win... I HAVE done dangerous and questionable things to put opponents away when I needed to... I HAVE dug deeper than anyone else has ever seen and delivered on my promises to fight the good fight and be a true warrior... win, lose, or draw... and I have held my head high at the outcomes of all of my fights... be they victories or failures... but they were mine. Today is no different. My investment in the WGWF is not contingent on my competing in the company, or on my record as on-air talent inside those ropes. My business deals with the Office of the WGWF has nothing to do with my contract as talent on the show, and just like any time before... when I climb into that ring in Vegas... I am the Beast... as I always have been.” John gravely voice spills from his lips, heavy with vicious intent.
“I see...” she sputters a little nervously, John's menacing aura radiating across the room. “Uh... speaking of your contract with the WGWF, I hear that isn't the only contract you've signed recently. You announced in an interview last week that the New Breed Foundation would be handling the security forces at the Velvet Rabbit Las Vegas, and that you would be expanding the Foundation umbrella of companies to include a production studio as well? Why don't you tell us about your projects outside of the ring that you've been quietly working on since last we saw you?” Denise masterfully redirects the line of questioning to a less intense set of inquiries.
“Well, as you know, the New Breed Foundation absorbed the 'Lock Down' security firm after Sebastian's unfortunate incident several years ago, and I place Darina and Owen in charge of the operations. Since then, the firm has managed to land many contracts around the globe. Through it's success, we have been able to increase our staffing and our reach, and I figured I might as well call the Pages with a contract offer for the new Resort. Again, I have made a very lucrative career on making good deals, and this one was a no brain-er. The Velvet Rabbit in New York is a very profitable establishment, and it is well worth it to keep the place safe for its patrons and employees. It makes perfect sense to extend an offer in this case, and we came to a beneficial arrangement all around.” he explains plainly about the deal with Candice and Chris.
“Interesting. Maybe one day Darina or Owen would like to come on the show and talk about some of the amazing things they have been a part of in the time they have run the firm?” she inquires pointedly.
“I doubt it... no offense. Owen doesn't like to talk to people, and Darina is always busy working on logistics and supply chain roll outs. Maybe if you went to the offices one day, she might show you around if she's there.” John explains.
“I may just have to do that one day... but what about this production company you announced? How has that been going to get started and what projects are you working on already?” she asks excitedly.
“Well, it was slow at first, getting the paperwork drawn up and working with the screen actors guild to get the clearances we needed to even start talking to screen writers and directors about projects we wanted to tackle. There is a lot of work involved in getting into the production industry at the scale we are looking to break into the market with, but we're almost ready to start casting for our first production now.” John says with a smile, proud that he is about to embark on a new adventure with the Foundation.
“What made you want to break into the movie business?” she asks, confusion streaked across her features.
“Well, it wasn't so much that I wanted to get into movies or TV production, as I saw a void in a market that needed to be filled. See... during the pandemic, many studios shut down and went out of business. Without a constant influx of capitol, its hard for industries like movie production and entertainment fields to stay afloat. Ask anyone who has ever tried to open a comedy club... but... I saw a way for the Foundation to fund productions of Indy films and art projects that most of the major studios ignored. We've had a massive amount of interested parties sending us screen plays and manuscripts, and our first selection is called 'the Collapse'. It's an interesting story about the survival of a group of people after a Solar Flare knocks out the global electrical systems and plunges our planet back into the Dark Ages. I'm excited to start working on casting and production, and as the weeks go on, we'll have more news about that, I'm sure.” John explains the premise and the future planning that has been going on lately at the Foundation.
“That all sounds so fascinating, and I am happy that you could provide even more opportunity to those who maybe didn't know where to go after the pandemic, and that you are building into another new industry and creating even more jobs than ever before. It's a special kind of work you do with the Foundation, and I for one am glad that you do it.” she smiles at him as she acknowledges the effort that goes into all the work behind the Foundation.
“It's an effort of passion, for sure, Denise. You know that. Thank you for having me on again, for the first time... and I hope we get to do it again some time.” John says as he blushes slightly.
“Absolutely. You're always welcome here, John. Well ladies and gents, that is all the time we have for today. Don't forget to click the like and subscribe down below and turn on the bell to get all our notifications of future content just like this one. It has been a pleasure to have John Cable here in the studio with us today, but look out next week for your 'WGWF Run Down, with me, Denise Essex'!” she closes the show out as the scene fades to black.

We're very similar monsters, Bam Miller. Violence incarnate. Undying will to forge forward no matter the obstacle. Determined to die in battle when finally the day comes when we find the one to slay us... but yet... in all of these things that make us both warriors... there is a vast crevasse of difference between us as well.
You are sloppy... unkempt... unwashed... and brutal... yet you fight with unbridled passion and emotion... rage and cunning. You are chaos inside those moments of unadulterated brutality... a billion whirling mauls of knuckles and bricks. Terror and malice and hatred.
These are your tools of destruction, Slayer. Hone them... sharpen your axes and swords... focus your aim, and take your shot Bam Miller... for this is the only one you're going to get.
I'm sure you've combed over hours of footage, looking for any weakness you can exploit... and I'm sure you've picked the brain of your manager, Chris Page, for any juicy little nugget you might be able to eke out of his hazy faded memories of our brutal battles in ages past. I am sure he has told you all about what to expect inside those ropes when facing me.
Who am I kidding?
Seriously.
I know better, Bam.
Seriously.
I know better, Bam.
You didn't watch any tapes or listen when Page tried to warn you about the monster you were about to face at the Relaunch. You were busy getting drunk, feeling miserable, and approaching this just like you do every other fight.
This isn't every other fight,
And I'm not every other fighter.
This match will set the stage for the entire future of the WGWF.
It will write history for us both, and for the future of our industry.
And I'm not every other fighter.
This match will set the stage for the entire future of the WGWF.
It will write history for us both, and for the future of our industry.
I bet you chuckled when I told you the Belt already had a home... I bet you took one bleary-eyed, drunken look at me and you saw some sad ass, mutilated, bearded old bastard past his prime and you figured one good bar brawl later and POOF... you've laid low a stepping stone in your run to the WGWF World Heavyweight Title.
You're wrong Bam. You've made a mistake...
A terribly dire mistake.
A terribly dire mistake.
I am not a feeble old man. I am not anyone's prey. I am a monster... a demon incarnate... a living weapon honed to bite and gnash and rend the flesh of those who oppose me.
I am a Beast, Bam Miller...
And before the Beast...
Led to slaughter as sacrifice to the WGWF Relaunch...
Bam's a LAMB.
And before the Beast...
Led to slaughter as sacrifice to the WGWF Relaunch...
Bam's a LAMB.
You wanted a Beast, Bam... Now You've Got One!
