The cameras fade in with the words "WGWF Exclusive" at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It's the backstage of the University of Phoenix Stadium, specifically one of the back hallways. Denise Essex is standing in front of a locker room door.
Essex: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight at Wrestle Wars, history was made as Chronically Hunted walked out of Tag Team turmoil the new World Tag Team champions, ending the almost 700 day reign of the DVC. I hope to get a few words with the now former champs.
Knock, knock, knock
Essex opens the door and enters the room. It's eerily quiet in the room as we see both men still in the ring gear. Connolly is sitting on a bench, with his head hung low while Josten is sitting in the corner near him, leaning up against a locker. Essex slowly walks up to the former champs and neither one acknowledges her presence.
Essex: Excuse me gentlemen, now this is the first time we've seen you in almost seven hundred days without the WGWF World Tag Team titles around your waist. Can you talk to us a little bit about the match?
Josten audibly groans before reaching in the locker beside him and pulling out a flask. He opens it and takes a swig as Connolly cracks his neck & sighs.
Josten: Fucker low blowed me... pinned me.. that's that.
Essex: Ummm ok. Well... what's next for the DVC?
Josten takes another swig.
Josten: Simple. Someone gets their ass kicked.
Connolly raises his head and looks at Denise.
Connolly: Six hundred.. forty four days. In that time, we beat every challenge that was put in front of us. We always knew our time would come. We always knew that one day, a team would come along that was better than us and beat us. We could accept that.
But to be on the biggest stage of them all, and to have everything you worked for taken away from you.. NOT because someone was better.. but because they took the low road.
Connolly exhales.
Connolly: And what makes matters worse, is that now we have to deal with all the people coming out of the woodworks who are gonna be going "See, I told you they weren't as good!" or "See, I told you they dominated a weak division!" That's hardest part of this, Denise. We already weren't respected before and tonight just makes it worse.
But it's cool.
I've made a career not crying over spilled milk, and I won't allow us to start now. Just like Erik said, the new plan is in effect. And someone is gonna get their ass kicked. We're going for broke now and since no one appreciated us while we were carrying their tag team division.. maybe we'll just bypass those titles now and set our sights on the other gold in this company.
Hey big man?
Josten nods.
Connolly: How does the Intercontinental title sound for you?
Josten: Not bad. Would look good ova my shoulder.
Connolly: That it would my friend. As for me, I feel like it's about time for Superman to finally sit at the top of the mountain. So Denise, spread the word to everyone who thinks.. hopes that we're down and out. We're just getting started. We're gonna rise from this like a phoenix.. and fly.. to the top of the world.
Christian winks as the camera fades to black.
